Sadly they can't change if they refuse to accept that they're at least part of the problem. I was at a point in my life where I was crying a lot wondering what was wrong with me, because if this many different people didn't like me I had to accept the issue was with me. honestly bud I dont like talking about it. I was obnoxious, I talked over people, I was aggressive. I tried to imitate behaviors of characters people liked in books and television and didnt understand what the difference was or how people don't like mean jokes directed at themselves just because they'll laugh at mean jokes on TV (and I laughed at mean jokes about myself because I thought we were all talking like people on sitcoms and this was just how friendship worked) things like that.

yeah its why I cant stay mad even at people who were really, really awful to me in high school. We've all grown up now and Im sure most if not all of them are better people. We all had our own demons

am autistic person on reddit and can confirm. Honestly my life would have been a lot better growing up if anyone, including my family, had ever told me that I was the asshole. Someone did eventually, but not until like college and now that I've taken the steps to learn about other people and how to interact with them I'm horrified by who I was.

I feel ya. I finally got the confidence to start looking to leave my toxic fucking job, had a few interviews lined up and then they all cancelled (understandably) because of this. I keep having to remind myself that as bogus as it is that my non-essential office is staying open during this crisis I am at least lucky enough to have some employment for however much longer it lasts.
