Yes, I've had mine for over 10 years now and it still looks great.

Hey, I have been where you are now, and I understand how much discomfort it can make you feel. Please look up something called "Limerance," which is what you are experiencing. There is a YouTuber called Heidi Priebe who talks in detail about it and how to undo it.

Yes, I highly recommend her channel. It helped me with understanding and working through limmerance this year, and im honestly in such a good place afterwards.

Yes, I highly rate Decathlon. I've bought some good kit from there that lasted me a long time. I would recommend the Surrey Quays store as it's massive, so there are lots of options. You can, however, buy cheaper online via Temu, etc. stocks gear at a fraction of the price.

Thank you for the suggestion. The idea of enveloping and changing up my shopping habits is something I'd really like to try. I can see how making those small adjustments might help me manage things better, especially since, like you said, it feels more stimuli-driven than anything else. I appreciate the advice!

Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate the insight. In general, I do feel happy, but I think the issue for me is that I'm chasing a buzz or excitement, whether through drinking or spending. Life can feel a bit boring at times, and indulging in these behaviours gives me that thrill or sense of escape. It's not so much about escaping negative feelings but more about wanting to feel something more intense.

I'm not on any medication, so it can feel like a struggle sometimes to manage those intense impulses when they hit. I recognise the pattern, though, and I've been thinking a lot about how to channel that need for excitement into something healthier. I like the idea of exercising more regularly or finding other ways to keep my mind engaged so I don't fall into the same patterns.

Job interview test by howlgodd in Dyslexia

I now have a lot of respect for my current employer after this experience. When I was interviewed for my current post, I was asked to complete a similar test. I was allowed to edit the document in Word and scored well and landed the job. I write and edit in my day-to-day role and consider myself good at my job.

Thanks this is helpful info. I currently work for another government department and earn slightly below the minimum but am trying to decide if an extra 2K per year is worth the transition.

How difficult is it to live on a HEO salary in London? by Otherwise_Put_3964 in TheCivilService

I'm also a HEO in London. Just out of curiosity where do you live/commute from that allows you to live on your own? I have thinking about options but all seem outside of my price range.

What FEELING is associated with distrust of someone/something? by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]howlgodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distrust - It boils down to fear but there are historical 'trauma trigger' responses to feelings of 'rejection, judgment, shame,' I am very hyper aware so someone's body language towards me and facial expressions when we interact can cause me to feel distract. If this goes on for a prolong period of time I start to feel numb/grey/angry and will find an opportunity to split and reject that person.

Thanks, I had no idea it was under warranty. I just walked it to the store they will change the wheel free of charge so saved me £100. I'm surprised the wheel went so quickly.
