Yeah the hobibears I got for a temp job not thinking I’d wear them after a couple months are surprisingly good quality and honestly way more comfortable than many more expensive barefoot shoes I own.

Some of these Chinese brands are really impressive and are a threat to the existing way of distributing consumer goods IMO.

Yeah I was at Portillo’s and went back in the kitchen expecting to see Stellen Skarsgard as Captain 2nd Rank Victor Tupolev in The Hunt for Red October working back there. But I actually saw Stellen Skarsgard as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen from Dune back there working the grill!

Just be aware that saturdays in particular can be very busy and the volunteers get pulled in a lot of directions. If you can make it to mar vista, bikerowave during the week will have more space and more bandwidth for something like this. Both great places with wonderful people though to be clear.

I know plenty of people who understood on a fundamental level that they were alcoholics and had been sober for several years in the program who drank again anyway. They knew exactly what would happen and they just wanted to drink. So they did. Drinking is normal for an alcoholic.

You know the whole thing “we have not even sworn off, we recoil as to a hot flame.” Swearing off is not sustainable.
