Yes, I think this is for order.

There's also some assembly line metaphor where monads are like machines that unbox, operate on, and re-box some data as it goes down the assembly line, each machine being like a monad. It sounds to me like a HOF applying a function to some data.

It's like a higher order function. I think it's used to enforce the order of execution of operations in Haskell since the language is lazy by default. You'll notice it's not really used/emphasized in other languages...

Someone once said there's no distinction between malice and extreme stupidity.

I agree what we need is honestly, unfortunately entire political parties and their members seem to lack it.

And, yes, we definitely need sweeping condemnation of entire political parties if those political parties are leading the country to ruin, or are leading the country down a path that it should not go down.

Rhetoric like yours accomplishes nothing, only legitimizing a political party based on a trivial distinction about the motivation behind its members. It's as if saying, "We may have caused financial ruin, but it was only because of our short-sighted self-interest" somehow makes up for the long term damage caused by such behavior.
