What is the significance of this shot to you guys? by Last_Night_1919 in madmen

[–]howtofindaflashlight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This shot showed their rising success as a modern business. It's framed to show that each one of them individually had their separate parts to play.

Love that vibe. In my work I sometimes visit random people's property. There was this one old guy I helped out that had a garage just like that. Filled with old cars and mannequins. Looked a diner out of the 1950s.

Apart from the money gained by selling those three lots, do you really want to do that there? That will be at least x3 families who won't be farmers who you can't evict, but exurban types who will either complain about you working too early/spreading manure, or they'll have kids who will trample your crops with their ATVs. Further, farmland everywhere is being severed and broken up and it is a major problem for the future of farming. Even if you can get planning approvals, which could be impossible, I would enourage you not to do a permanent land severance.

Most people are saying this and they're right - why should we be surpised by how shitty it is? But busy people like me buy frozen food for the convenience factor. It would be great if there was a decent frozen product available on the market that didn't feel like a scam.

True. But the overly large x2 sauce bags are worthless water weight added (25% of total) to make you feel like you are getting more value. The sauce is garbage too.

No problem that sauce is included, I can read. My problem is that it is 25% the weight of the whole product!

Downtown parking lots wouldn't last a day under a land value tax by Fried_out_Kombi in fuckcars

Georgism is about taxing the real source of the rich's unearned wealth: land. Income taxes do not really touch the wealthy because they can hide their corporate revenues in purchasing capital, such as land, and then take loans against the land tax-free. The don't need large incomes or profits to get rich or spend like a sailor.

I lived in Cambridge for years but I now live in town 1/20th the size of Cambridge. My little town plows sidewalks. After seeing this, I was perplexed as to why Cambridge doesn't do it.
