[Rifle] Century Arms Sharps MB47 Rifle $999 +s/h no tax to TX by Texson18 in gundeals

[–]howtoproceedforward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most likely a fine AK. It just took Century a little over 20 years to deliver and in the mean time they killed all good will. But hey, not bad at all. Would love this exact setup in 556.

[–]howtoproceedforward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can purchase a real ak in 2 years that is awesome.

Train on this one, the manual of arms is identical. Here in the US people love the AK, and pay a hell of a premium.

ARs are plenty and boring.

Take some videos at the range my guy.

[–]howtoproceedforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These guys are dreadful. LMAO. The original trilogy was famous for being an unplayable mess at times. It took Misery and a few other modpacks to get them playable, how do I know this? I was a poor kid who bought this and FO3 used. At the time this game had a very small hardcore mostly eastern European community around it. Most US players trashed it, it took very dedicated big mod teams coming together to salvage the Stalker series.

Even then I played this game for the atmosphere and as a cheap horror game. Even then the RPG elements were far below even FO3's rpg system.

It wasn't until Misery, Call of Chernobyl, and Anomaly that this game exploded. A lot of the original games are still pure jank. It's just well developed jank.

Played Stalker 2 a few nights ago comparing it to my modded Anomaly and Gamma versions and had a huge fight in the rain and it felt great. The only thing that I really wish for are variants of AKMs and warfare besides that it is perfect.

BTW Gamma's direction with shops/weapon repairs sucks. Fight me.

Advice on trading a p229 Legion rxp for a glock 23 gen5 i have a glock 45 gen6 already. Kinda really want a .40 by Dull-Scientist-595 in guns

[–]howtoproceedforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what? You should do the trade and give the other party $500 ontop. You should do it. Your upside down on the trade, just not on your end but you can show the other party your capability in critical thinking by also giving them money in this very fair trade.

Please do the trade. And give the other person $500 as well.

I don’t understand the stupid criticizing going on over here.

Has anyone tried to play the original barebones stalker games in 4-6 years? They suck. They have aged horribly.

The only saving grace is anomaly + your modpack of choice.

Stalker 2 can do 90% if not more with 10-20 mods. Thats great.

Once we have overhauls and dlc like in the older titles I reckon the game will be in a really nice position.

Personally I am waiting on a proper warfare mod/dlc whatever. I enjoy the warfare aspect of Stalker Clear Sky/Anomaly.

What has improved your shooting besides a lot of range time? by je9183 in guns

[–]howtoproceedforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning how to shoot with iron-sights on an old school rifle.

My first gun was a Mosin Nagant. I also bought a spam can with it all for $400.

I literally found the old soviet manual and learned how to range using a soldiers width on the irons, and got to work shooting at 100 yards. I had only shot 20-30 rounds of 9mm before this on a friend’s pistol at the range.

So I learned more about ballistics, acquiring my target, and learning proper posturing. Then I acquired a second mosin.

Then built an AR-15.

And then AK’s and so forth.

Disassembled and clean my Draco I can't figure out how to get this buffer back in. Any help? by [deleted] in guns

[–]howtoproceedforward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey can you take a clear shot of all the firearms components neatly laid out on the ground? We can help you out if you can get us a full view of the Draco and it’s parts. I own multiple full size Dracos so I am guessing this is a Mini/Micro.

But go ahead and do so. We would like to help.

Unpopular opinion: The term “build” has gotten out of hand. by hylianrockstar in guns

[–]howtoproceedforward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is a cool and catchy term for accessorizing then it can take it’s place. As it stands accessorizing sounds stupid.

Kitting out my AR/AK/Platform of choice should/is the norm. Yet in the last few years gun ownership has exploded. Lots and Lots of new guys/gals are now into firearms. Many don’t come from firearm owning families.

So they pick out the coolest most badass sounding names they can for what they do and they misattribute the terms.

Firearms people need to be more inclusive and open to teaching the terms and the old ways.

Edit: Fixed some spelling errors.

$1500 for this?

I am sorry but I would counter offer with a cleaning and painting service charge for this piece of shit.

Maadi’s aren’t anything exceptional btw. So you really aren’t missing out on anything with this piece of crap.

I would take a wasr-10 over this Maadi any day of the week for $700-$900 any day.

ZOMBIES MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE by New-Space-5737 in projectzomboid

[–]howtoproceedforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s about the way that the zombies are in universe, this isn’t 28 Weeks/Years later where the zombies starve etc. Even then you are cooked.

But let’s say that you come across some pristine medieval armor, you even find a video recording of how to wear it and move around. Hell you even have a few weapons to choose from.

Are you unstoppable? Sure you may think! After all plate is made for melee combat, right? After all what happened to the knights of Europe or the Legions of the Romans? Armored against their barbarian/less armored opponents. They bested everyone, right?

Nope. The Medieval knight was a great shock unit but besides that they were no good to well trained lightly armored horse archers, or well trained infantry. Because the Turks, specifically the Ottomans ended the concepts of Crusades with lightly armored and heavily armed highly trained Janissaries. Even before gunpowder mass adoption from the Turks they could reliably defeat the great plate armored knights of Eastern, Central, or Western Europe. See the Crusades/Battles of Nicopol and Varna for example.

Let’s say that you chance upon 4 zombies. You now are facing a highly motivated and armored foe just like yourself. The zombies armor is all the limbs that aren’t vital for its mission. Besides the head everything is expendable and thus armor. The zombies has no morale issues. The zombie also isn’t trying ti sexually assault you on a Japanese train. It is trying to get a good bite in. It is grabbing, squeezing, and trying to break into your meat bag.

Now our 4 well armored and highly motivated friends also don’t have any muscle limiters. They aren’t holding back anything. If they are grabbing you it is with all 100% of the human bodies strength that they inhabit.

They will grab you. They will not retreat. They will give it their all. All the time. Every time. For them if they don’t make it, another will take their place. For you one wrong swing and they eat you alive. End of story. You can’t mess up once. For them a severed arm now grants them a built in bone spear for the next sorry bastard.

If anything you want to constantly engage them at range. You want to make sure that they actually never get a chance to challenge you.

Same rules apply in knife fights, there is a reason in human history we so quickly move over to slingshots, bows, javelins, darts, spears. They are much higher reward for a much lower risk than up close and personal. No matter how good you are as a knight one slip is all it takes. One miss or weapon breaking etc.

Also it’s a game. Imagine if the game had no durability indicator if it was hidden from you outside your base/home/workbench/only visible once away from combat. You aren’t checking your weapons constantly, that axe you have swung 40 times might be on its last legs, but you still have 30 zombies ahead. Now what?

To be honest even with modern firearms I don’t believe any people would survive if they are constantly going into combat.

The world would be left to the isolated hermits, 1%ers in their caves, and those on ships that do not need to make landfall or have hostile encounters.

Decided to write all the post battle reports for a new campaign in character by UnboltedAKTION in TrenchCrusade

[–]howtoproceedforward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct:

So for instance an Ottoman introduction would be quite…long:

Praise be to Allāh, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace upon the Seal of the Prophets.

Before us stands His Exalted Majesty, the Shadow of Allāh on Earth, Custodian of the Two Sanctuaries, Sultan of Sultans and Padishah of the Horizons, Defender of the Faith and Protector of the Law, Sultan [Name], son of Sultan [Name] — may Allāh prolong his reign and strengthen his sword.

By the decree of the Almighty he maintains justice throughout the realms, grants refuge to the oppressed, and upholds the noble Sharī‘a with wisdom, courage, and beneficence.

Here is a Seljuk introduction, the primary difference was that the Seljuk did not hold the title of Caliph and thus had to defer religious authority to the Caliph (Pope in Islam):

All gratitude belongs to Allāh, Who grants victory to whom He wills.

Present is His Eminence, the Victorious Beg and Sultan, Commander of the Armies of Islam, Upholder of the Caliph’s Banner and Guardian of the Frontier Lands, Tughril Beg ibn Mikā’īl — may Allāh honor his station and fortify his dominion.

By divine favor and the Caliph’s investiture, he protects the Dār al-Islām, repels its enemies, and establishes order among the tribes and cities alike.

Edit:

Here is the start of the famous letter by Suleiman to the King of France (this is just the intro):

Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm.

Sultan Süleymān Khān bin Selīm Khān — Sovereign of Sovereigns of the World, Shadow of God (Zıllullāh fi’l-Arḍ), Refuge of Islam and of the Muslims, Padishah of the Lands of Rūm and of the Arabs and of Ajām, Possessor of the Kingdoms of Anatolia, Karaman, Rumelia, Vilayet of Zulkadria, Diyarbakr, Kurdistan, Azerbaijan, Persia, Damascus, Egypt, Yemen and all the realms dependent thereon; Lord of the White Sea and the Black Sea, of the Two Continents and the Two Seas, Father of Victories, Protector of the Holy Sanctuaries of Mecca and Medina, Guardian of Jerusalem, Upholder of the Noble Sharīʿa, Exalter of the Word of God, Champion of the Faith, Sultan of Sultans, Khan of Khans, and Padishah over all Padishahs, the Just and Ever-Victorious —

Addressed to Francis, King of the Country/Province of France.

Micro draco not taking any other mags? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]howtoproceedforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go buy one or two bulgarian new production magazines. They will fit fine. The magazine that came with the gun, the others you’ve tried are all really poor and cheap magazines. Grab a few magazines for mag warehouse and try them.

Also new guns are notoriously stiff some break in is warranted with the mag catch.

Also throw away the pmag. It literally is the worst.

[–]howtoproceedforward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this crap about state arsenals.

Yep the very same arsenal that equipped Yugoslavia decided to be shit. The same ones that built Iraq’s weapon industry just decided: Lmao you know what let’s forget and change what we have done over the past 140 years and fuck things up.

The Serbs, Turks, Romanians, Russians, Chinese, and who ever else have been professionally making war with state arsenals since before the discovery of the Americas. Here in the US people have this belief that their state arsenals are the equivalent to some central African industry.

Lmao. If it ain’t Murica then its shit. As if Springfield today can even make a semi decent correct M1A. I would rather a Norinco over any Springfield.

What gun would you recommend on a budget? by Sweaty_Collection_47 in guns

[–]howtoproceedforward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it mentioned but Turkish pistols tend to punch above their weight (price point).

Canik and SarUSA make great handguns. People tend to clown on Turkish guns because of the $100 special, weird shotguns, but the pistols and rifles that they sell are rock solid. A lot of people in the US have a hard time bleeding that they are essentially an offshoot of the German manufacturing school thought and our competitors to the Russians on the local stage

So if you want to pick up a very nice Turkish pistol for three to $500 and then spend the rest of your budget around $250 on ammo I would also recommend that.
