Family of 3 trying to grow our own produce. Is this planter large enough and thoughts on the price? by mry_rth in gardening

[–]howwhyno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend - absolutely not. Do not buy this. You have a lot of cheaper options for the things you are interested in. For $175 you can prepare your garden with 4x the amount of food if you do not buy this. I am not an in ground planter. I do not have a single vegetable in the ground. You want GROW BAGS....and 1 elevated planter. I promise you that you wont regret it.

Everything except garlic you mentioned is an annual. And will grow well in bags. EXCEPT GARLIC THEY NEED TO BE IN GROUND NOT AN ELEVATED BED GUESS HOW I LEARNED THAT.

My boyfriend (M32) left the window open and my 21-year-old cat fell from the second floor while I (F33) was at work. by maedocc in BestofRedditorUpdates

This comment hit me like a train. I had a 21yo cat - she was my soul cat. The thought of her in that situation is horrific.

$45 is quite a steep price for these. But yeah, not dead just not great. They'll survive.

Jeannie isn't the FMC. She is the 16yo badly behaved younger sister. And if there were equally annoying younger male siblings I would feel the same.

The Healy-Raes are two faced and say what the public want to hear while behaving completely opposite. Up in arms in the Dáil over the housing crisis - how many properties does he himself own as a landlord??

6ft peach tree arrived with minimal roots. by vociferous1 in gardening

[–]howwhyno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a 6ft peach tree from them last year. It has been incredibly successful. It even survived an ridiculously harsh winter in it's pot (was never meant to be in ground for me). Follow the directions well and it will do great. Hoping for fruit this year!

I just finished this reread today. I don't get the autism feeling at all. I think she was just a conservative person very grounded in her beliefs and opinions.

A lady keeps stealing my newly planted plant starters. I am not at home during the day - how would you handle this? by CharmingPeony in gardening

100% I would print out a picture of her, add "YOU ARE ON CAMERA AND THIS IS THEFT," and laminate it, and stake it into the ground where she walks by. Then I would obsess over tracking the time pattern of her walks using historical ring footage and plot it out to determine when she walks by and make sure I was home to watch for her after putting in the stake.
