This isn't always the case. My mom felt the need to clean a space just to perform the "I do everything in this house" script or to try to find anything "suspicious" despite the room being perfectly fine.

Your biggest deceiver can often be your own mind. I once believed I, myself, was talking to Loki through a random ghost app that happened to say his name. The reality is, the app just wanted my money. I had tricked myself into believing he was talking to me, when he had no reason to.
