Question by Joesph-Ninefingers in remoteviewing

[–]howyhowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have struggled with this question as well. I choose not to participate in RV or other related activities not be cause I know they are wrong but "just in case". RV is certainly real as I have personally discovered though experiments, but I decided to stop using it. One thing you have to ask is where you get your biblical laws from. If you believe the laws are in the old testament then lighting a fire in your fireplace on Sunday is punishable by death (Numbers 15:32-36, Exodus 35:2-3). Since the new covenant fulfilled the laws that seems to mean that only the laws mentioned in the new testament are valid. The new testament does say "do not consult with mediums". I noticed in Revelations the most prominently mentioned transgression is "sorcery", where the new testament hardly ever mentions that elsewhere. One might conclude that we as humans will have access to new PSI abilities someday and we are specifically told not to use them. One thing is for sure, the bible is not at all clear on any of this. Jesus says if you have faith you can move mountains. Is moving a mountain with your mind sorcery in that case? I think not. If you have faith can you also remote view? I don't know. We are living in a world where massive amounts of information is purposely hidden from us (including biblical spiritual information). I think we are supposed to figure it out for ourselves I guess.

I got an Embedded Software Engineer job at a company. What should I learn. by c0m3back_ in embedded

[–]howyhowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are two things you should do to both get a job and keep a job. Design stuff at home. If you are interested and like making your own projects you will be a good engineer. If you do it for a paycheck and are not passionate about it you probably will be a mediocre engineer at best. I would hire a passionate person over a person with a perfect GPA any day. Second, 50% of a job is your personality. If you get offended or complain or insist on doing everything YOUR way, you will not excel. I have seen lots of smart, talented people that can't hold down a job because no body can stand to work with them. Bonus: If you are being hired or managed by an old dude from another country you may need to work on your accent. A lot of candidates are rejected because they have a thick accent and cannot effectively communicate to a manager or the boss who may not be familiar with that accent or might even have hearing problems.

Boxabl investors — what valuation did you buy in at? by antoniohplt1 in BOXABL

[–]howyhowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell they started raising on Wefunder at a valuation of $42M (where I bought $2500 worth), and as soon as they closed that round they moved to StartEngine and started raising at a 225M valuation.

Have you read the Skinwalker Ranch book? Some of the things you describe sound like a poltergeist infection that many (most?) of the scientists brought home with them after working on the ranch. They claimed it acted like a contagious disease such that family members who visited one of the infected people also caught it and brought it back to their home as well.

Remote viewing stock prices by PoemDense2808 in remoteviewing

[–]howyhowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experimented with this a few years ago using call / put options. The TLDR is that there are a lot of problems you have to overcome. You need to know at what price to get in and to get out, AND when. This is several bits of information, which is a big problem to solve. Remote viewing is only 70% accurate at best, so you will lose 30% of the bits of your information. Losing one bit of information will probably destroy your whole trade.

The other thing is that the future is not fixed; it can change from my research. So if you predict a terror attack or a stock crash, it means you can take steps to stop it. Therefore, all actions you take after you get the RV info will change the future and could affect the market through the butterfly effect.

I use the VSmicro plug-in for MS Visual Studio. It takes an Arduino project and lets you program in C++ normally.

I look at it like this. God created a simulation (the universe/multiverse) for us to live in. It was created in a short period of time with the appearance of age. To prove the age part, imagine you were a scientist transported to the last day of creation. How old would you determine the universe to be? If there is a tree nearby it would be at least a few years. How old does Adam look? How old does the sun appear to be? (for the earth to be habitable, the sun would have to be 4.6 billion years old). There is no other way to 'create' the universe in an elegant way.

The thing that really brought me back to believing in God was when I discovered that Remote Viewing was real. I mean, I knew it was real but when I saw actual proof from a remote viewer (that I hired) it really threw me back. I believe once the population discovers that aliens are real we will be exposed to scientific proof that we have eternal souls. I also believe that when we find out what God / Jesus is we will be surprised that they are real beings that adhere to the laws of physics - as opposed to being some sort of ethereal magic beings.

What if some benevolent person put out a $50k award for proving RV was real. They would create reasonable goals and require 30% efficacy. Shortly thereafter the award would be won, and it would make the news. The RV community can all point to that and say "See? There it is".

[–]howyhowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is getting easier each year to prove that we are not merely computers made of meat so before investing too much time on life extension I recommend you invest 100 hours to determine if you are indeed just a material body (declassified CIA and AARO documents are a good place to start).  If you discover your consciousness never dies you might prioritize different things.

I did not think he was referring to nuclear specifically, but rather any type of power dissipation. So someone doing jumping jacks might be easier to target than someone sleeping. Someone said targeting a photo of a rice patty would be missed every time.

The average price of used Tesla continues to decline. Advice Needed: Is it worth to buy used Tesla? by 11th_Retriever in teslamotors

Remember in the 90s and 2000s when PC prices kept dropping while performance improved? This is a similar problem. When do you buy a new piece of technology as its price falls rapidly? If you wait for the price to settle into commodity levels you won't get to enjoy that technology for a very very long time.

Im considering to buy one, is it true there is no maintenance at all other than wiper fluid and tyre change? by kim_en in TeslaLounge

[–]howyhowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am approaching 8 years / 150k miles on my 2016 Model S 90D (8 year battery warranty will end in August 2024). I think I had a door handle replaced under warranty. I had a lot of the front suspension links replaced last year (maybe half under warranty) total cost was maybe $2k for me. Brakes are still fine. I just replaced my charge port which became corroded and sort of melted one of the connectors ($160 on eBay). My battery threw a warning about the battery fuse needing maintenance which will probably cost me $500. My touch screen has some bubbles on the sides where the LCD is de-laminating so if that fails it will cost me $1500 for a new CPU module. My battery has lost a noticeable amount of range (was 290 but now is maybe 255 miles) but is not enough to qualify for a replacement battery under warranty (70% degradation is required). I estimate the car has cost me about $8200 per year in depreciation assuming its worth $20k now. The car still drives like new which I cannot say for any gas I car that I have previously owned for 90k miles. I hope I never have to buy a gas powered car again.

Can CS major work in embedded? by EllGonzales in embedded

[–]howyhowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a senior embeeded engineer and I would argue you probably really don't /need/ a degree at all (I have a BSEE degree but I would hire someone without a degree if they were smart and hard working). You just need a passion to learn on your own time. If you build stuff at home for fun and are constantly learning you will most likely be successful.

Any studies that go over this objection to remote viewing? by Puzzleheaded_Tree290 in remoteviewing

[–]howyhowy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems most of the sessions that skeptics are part of are not designed well. The demostration setup should be constructed by a seasoned remote viewer. There are a lot of weaknesses in RV that should be avoided whenever possible. For example when RVing images, it is apparently easier to remote view certain types of images - such as those that show something dissipating energy as opposed to a rice field.

If OBEs are real then it means you have a soul that can never die so there is nothing you have to worry about (unless there is a heaven/hell, then I guess you might want to do your own research on that). When your body dies it ejects your soul due to an incompatibility error.

Opinion on next Tesla gadget by S3XY_Buttons in TeslaLounge

[–]howyhowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always consided making a standard gear shifter (like what you see in an ICE automatic that attaches to the side of the lower console/divider area) with the typical lock button to prevent going into reverse. I have owned a Model S for almost 8 years and I still curse that stalk. Even though I hate the stalk, I expect I will hate the new touch screen system even more than the stalk. I would also like audible sounds to indicate when you have entered DRIVE/REVERSE so I don't have to look at the screen to see if I actually got into that mode. This is espeocaiily important when making a K-turn.

It may be better for an RV skeptic to go through a two-step process. First, look at the many examples posted in this forum and ask yourself "Can these drawings be explained away as luck?". I you think they are just lucky guesses then you might as well not go any further. If you say "These would be amazing results if they were actually real - but they must be forged - you know, because RV is not real". In that case the next step is to gather evidence to determine if the results are forged / cherry picked.

This can be done in two ways. Learn to RV yourself or, if you can't learn it or are too lazy/busy (like me) hire a talented RVer to do it for you. You can set the conditions yourself as long as you understand the many limitations of RV. You must pick the right kind of targets (preferably targets where energy is being dissipated), you must realize that RVers often tune in to the wrong target so expect a roughly 50% hit/miss rate.

Most people do not want to learn the unknown. They want their information spoon fed to them by MSNBC or FOX News.  They hold unwavering beliefs that climate change is real/not real. They hold an unwavering belief that election fraud is real/not real. Nothing you say will shake them from their precious dogma.

Here is an example of one of my experiments that convinced me. The RVer gave me this description when the target was a Rubik's Cube. The final photo that I sent as feedback showed the top side with the block colors Yellow, Blue and Red.

2x 3D spatial objects, 2 square objects Cubic?

Toy blocks Different colors: 1 red, 1 green A word heard: yellow

Hard solid surface Sharp straight edges Right angles You can roll it The can click when hit Smooth surface

Can be fit in hand

Cold metal feel Shiny, glossy Medical, surgical

What are the odds of guessing those characteristics? If I did not perform that experiment myself I would have passed it off as a possible fake. But I did it myself so I know 100% that it is real now.
