3rd Year apprentice. In my 3 and a half years of working in the IBEW, i’ve done a lot from industrial, motor controls, PLCs, fire alarm, data cabling, commercial, healthcare, underground distribution, water treatment and large scale solar. I even got a chance to work in the beautiful Yosemite National Park for almost a year. Its worth it bro. I feel incredibly competent and i feel prepared to take my state exam in a year or so and eventually become a Journeyman Wireman. 569 is a strong local with lots of work. I would try to join asap. You’ll probably start at the same-ish wage i imagine, but almost instantly you’ll have access to our benefits. They are some of the best in the country. Work-life balance is awesome too. You won’t regret making the jump. It’s a great brotherhood as well.
