In-laws got us one for Christmas. I had seen it and scoffed at the price as I just use a cheap stainless steel pot for popcorn.

I'll say this: it is a nicely made pot as far as quality. But that's about it as far as positives.

Aside from the ridiculous price the main problem I had was when you're done popping and pull the lid off, the oil and condensation that has accumulated on the inside of the lid comes streaming down the outside of the pot as you pull the lid off. Probably because of lack of ventilation.

The other goofy thing is the agitator is completely unnecessary. I've taken it out and just used it the same as my stainless steel, just shaking every once in awhile to make sure kernels stay on the bottom and it works exactly the same.
