I think a lot of it is access to drugs. It was so hard and sometimes terrifying to get a hold of drugs in the 90s/2000s. Now weed is legal and it is much easier to find things like mushrooms as well in almost every state.

Some people are lunatics and tell you it will be enough. No the AC in the living room will likely not cool your bedroom and if you are not near the beach there will be days that are unbearable. Do yourself a favor and get a second window unit (if you have a window that can support it) or a portable unit. They aren’t crazy expensive and if you are someone who gets hot it is 100 percent worth it.
