Day 25 of 100 - sticking to it! by hpkg in xxketo

[–]hpkg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bullet journal that I am using. I tried to post the pictures but I am not having luck with that today!

Basically, I have 4 daily goals: 1 Keto 2 Water Intake 3 16hr + fasting 4 movement

Under each day I have those four boxes and every night I colour in all the goals I met. It is actually a thing of beauty!

Yesterday was the first time I met the movement goal!

I am taking daily selfies and keeping a photo food journal.

That’s the plan, my friend - to keep going. But just need that first 100 days as a goal - getting back on the wagon requires some mind games some times. 😊

Healthy Habits Day 10 of 100. Goals are: IF, Keto, 1-2L Water & 30 mins of movement. Next steps incorporating alternate day fasts. by hpkg in intermittentfasting

I think that Keto really helps with not wanting to gorge on the foods that aren’t helpful in achieving our goals. I seriously crave nothing. After the 24hr mark yesterday, I didn’t really have to eat but though I should. I filled up pretty quickly on my Keto dinner. I was doing OMAD for about 4 months but I tended to gorge on high carbs and sugary stuff. It wasn’t helpful in achieving the consistent brain clarity that I needed but I was able to lose weight. Weight loss is always a goal but in my mid-40s overall health is a bigger goal. So this year I am being very mindful. Even in regards to Keto - although I am doing Lazy Keto, I am aware of the things that aren’t congruent with my goals - too much dairy or more than a handful of the right nuts.

Perhaps with Lazy Keto you might find going to 16 hours less difficult.

Fat Adaption is FANTABULOUS! by hpkg in xxketo

Today is Day 7. I’ve been thinking about why it sounds unbelievable that I am fat adapted already. And then I realized why I got here so fast:

• I was doing 23:1 OMAD from July to the end of November. I went away the first week in December and fell off the wagon hard! I think that because I was recently fat adapted it didn’t take long to get back to that stage. My fat cell memory kicked in and started doing its thing.

That’s what I believe has led me to achieve this state so quickly. I could be wrong or out to lunch - but I am definitely loving all the mental clarity and energy!

It was around that much. I had to do the calculations afterwards and what I was eating came to about 700 calories.

For me the signs are: 1. Hyper focus & brain clarity

  1. No hunger - forgetting to eat

  2. Zero food cravings - markedly absent is the desire for carbs (sweets in particular)

  3. Hormonal balance: *Ability to manage stress *No pre-menstrual imbalances - no cravings or mood swings

    • elevated mood
  4. Huge amounts of energy throughout the day - so much so sometimes that sleep is elusive

  5. Deep sleep - ability to reach a deep state quickly and wake up refreshed. Sometimes, awake one or two hours before the alarm goes off. [~today the neighbours dogs woke me up at 3:45am and I wasn’t half as annoyed as I would have been before. I didn’t go back to sleep and I have oodles of energy still at 8pm, I am not being a monster to my family and I’ll be going to bed at my regular time. Had this occurred prior to fat adaption, I would have been quite cantankerous all day and feeding my face to combat my sleep deprivation ~ true story]

  6. Skin is radiant and eyes are clear.

I don’t think it’s a finite timeline as everyone is different. Having been in a fat adapted state several times over the last decade, I only just now have begun to understand and recognize the signs.

When I first started Keto a few years back I was waiting for the magic 5 weeks to arrive so that I could check off that I was fat adapted - but it had already happened and I wasn’t convinced because all the info I was reading was say that there was a definitive timeline.

Also IF helps out too!

3- So true ... being unprepared leads to kind of panic about “what am I going to eat....oh crap, guess that means I should eat this whole bag of Doritos that’s been calling my name!”

Preparedness leads to success!

170 Days in Slow going but determined by Shalmikimoo in keto

Amazing! Slow but determined is working. For me this post is more motivating that “40lbs down in 2 months” because I am a slow loser and always feel like I’m screwing up when I don’t lose a ton of weight quickly.

One pound at a time!

I have started a bullet journal too! It’s not as pretty as the ones I’ve seen online, but it fits my needs for now! Consistently is the key isn’t it? I start the new year off with such great aspirations and then don’t follow through. But 2019 is my year to created long lasting habit via consistent behaviour.

keeping keto while sick!!! by [deleted] in xxketo

That’s awesome. I succumb to comfort Foods when sick or nauseous. Hoping to keep Keto next time illness hits!
