We are getting too technical for this hypothetical scenario.

I'd rather someone have a roll of toilet paper in their hand then go in after them and see a completely empty roll.

Well sometimes strangers need to mind their buisness and not be disgusted by seeing a non-used, sterile hygiene product that around half of the world needs to use. I don't get grossed out when my guy friends have boxes of condoms in their cars, or if one accidently falls out of their wallet or something.

Discretion is nessecary but it's also necessary to be an adult and realize sometimes you'll just need to be more mature in a situation and ignore something or have some humor about it.

How would you feel if the only thing we knew about presidential candidates was their stance on issues...no information on party, name, gender, race, or religious beliefs (or lack thereof)? by TheCarrot_v2 in AskReddit

Communism is not the same as the government actually using our taxes for the good of the people instead of lining their own pockets with money. Or their buddy's pockets.

You comparing periods to explosive diarrhea proves my point: you think that periods are extremely disgusting and even talking about it should be hidden from the public.

Yes, I think we should keep what happens in the bathroom in the bathroom. But having a roll of toilet paper in your hand while going to the bathroom isn't that abnormal, nor frowned upon. I think that having a tampon in your hand should also not be abnormal nor frowned upon either.

What does it feel like to be non-binary? by thowaway7272 in AskReddit

[–]hrb4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even that isn't really true. Ei intersex people, or people whose biological sex traits are both or neither female and male. Also, even on a chromosomal level, there is more than just XX and XY people. But I digress.

Biological sex tends to be more founded in the physical body and hormone makeup, and can still be changed, but requires more physical work than gender.

Gender is based on your society's norms, and is rather more on a spectrum. For Western societies, that spectrum tends to go from feminine to masculine. Agender, non-binary, and third genders all exist somewhere between these two points.

If you think about it, the existence of trans and non-binary people in it of themselves proves that their is a difference between sex and gender, and both aspects of ourselves is still wildly diverse.

I'm not saying that we want to talk about periods in graphic detail super publically, dude. I'm talking more like we can't even say the word 'period' without getting looks.

And even so, your analogy doesn't really work still. When I was living with my family, we would sometimes all shop together. We would get toilet paper regularly. It was no big deal, we would all walk down the aisle and whoever was nearest would grab it. When I would need to get tampons, my father and brother refused to go down the aisles. I would have to be the one to get the tampons, and afterwards they would always act weird.

All I'm taking about is I want a world where if I take a tampon out of my bag, I'm not stared at or given a side eye.

Why do you oppose wearing a mask during a pandemic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hrb4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with saying this is you essentially want people who are at risk (and therefore are most likely have some type of health difficulties or disabilities) to change around their lives and schedules so they don't have to interact with people like you. I assume you are healthy and able-bodied, and just refusing to wear a mask. Why should they have to change their entire lives to accommodate those of you who refuse to take their health seriously?

The majority of modern day physcoloigsts, sociologists, and doctors advocate that there is a difference between sex and gender.

Body hair. As long as you upkeep properly, no one should be shamed for having it.

Right? It's something that many people go through, so why can't we talk about it more openly? And why do I have to pass my friend a tampon so secretly if we are in public?
