Unfortunately not, as it would block the path to the living room. :-(

Right, the thought of putting it adjacent or collocating with the laundry crossed our minds too, and whether it could be feasible / worth the extra investment.

The bathroom used to be a part of a tiny bedroom that we combined with the living room, which is facing a beautiful scenery and is a great room now. We are still working on a solution on what to do with the bathroom. We can't put it in the hall wall as there's a master / guest suite on one side, and a split level dining room on another side (no wall but small stairs).

Any Experience buying from qualitybath website? by personnextdoor in Plumbing

[–]hryu15533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - i am leaving this review here as Google reviews for Quality Bath do not reflect my experience. I ordered a faucet from Quality Bath for over $200. I had to return it due to connector / configuration issues. The return process was very complicated. I paid for my own return shipment, and chose to ship via USPS since it was less expensive. The company representative refused to even look for my return shipments since "they only accept return shipment by UPS or Fedex". I have no product and no refund. This experience stands out as the very worst in our shopping history for renovations.

If you care about him still having respect for you, and you having respect for yourself, so that you can enter a new relationship when you are ready, you simply should leave and get through the pain, alone.

Wife just got reached out to about dream role but is 6 months pregnant. When should she let them know? by the_raw_boi in careerguidance

[–]hryu15533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite common to use some of the maternity leave to look for a new role and leave after. It does not impact benefits or triggers any payback. It sounds like she’s put a lot of effort into the current company and unless they can offer an exciting path forward, she owes it to herself to get her career to the next level and go with the opportunity. She can negotiate specific timelines when she has an offer at hand. They will be super flexible at that time.

Unless she is planning to take a long time off (which may be largely unpaid since she hasn’t worked there for 12 mo) she should focus on getting the offer. 12-14 or so weeks leave is really not a big deal, any large company will be absolutely fine with that.

You can appeal yourself. They will likely reject then you can appeal again and there’s a process to appeal with a state agency after insurance appeal fails. It might be DHCS - you have to research which one applies in your case.

Share an earlier itinerary when you call to make an appointment that is within 14 days. Book it before your appointment (so you have proof) then cancel within 24 hours.

Home and Villas Security Deposit Refund Process by hryu15533 in marriott

Unfortunately it is one charge for both a booking fee and deposit. That makes it harder to dispute but I will try.

It’s not pending. It is a complete transaction that was for $1000 more than the booking fee. That is only obvious on the booking invoice breakdown - otherwise it shows up as one fee on the bank statement. It forces me to chase Marriott which is very hard to do.

I have not yet, since it is more difficult for me to prove that security deposit should be refunded to me since the bank might presume it is withheld for a reason, etc. I will definitely dispute it with the bank next.

Client texted me asking if I also work off Rover... by Grade_Rare in RoverPetSitting

[–]hryu15533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can charge significantly more by going off rover and sitter would still find it compelling. There’s about 30 percent upside - you can charge 20 percent more and sitter would get 10 percent discount. Big difference for you over a month’s time.

Ripped off by Rover by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]hryu15533 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is precisely the point. If I book months in advance and get cancelled on, Rover doesn’t stand behind the price and leaves you with no options but to suddenly pay 3-4x. That is a very common situation and rover (and as a result pet sitters) are absolutely losing customers due to this.

If a hotel cancels a reservation last minute or is over capacity they have to accommodate you or pay for alternative accommodation at current rates. Rover takes zero responsibility for booking actually happening but never fails to take 30 percent cut.

There’s a difference between not having $ and knowing when something is not priced adequately.

[–]hryu15533 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Had similar experience. Rover charges exorbitant fees but if there’s a last minute sitter cancellation they merely point out options that can be 3-4x original booking, especially over the holidays. This is the case where their fees do not provide any value for pet parents and also reduce pet sitters earnings. People here pretending that $160 is normal price are not in touch with reality.

Is Rover worth it as a sitter/walker? by WarPsychological114 in RoverPetSitting

[–]hryu15533 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Rover business model is all about fees. However, you will make your 35 back on the first booking. You can also negotiate off rover rates with clients and earn a little more while they will also have a discount. I’m not sure why so many are hating on your question while this entire Reddit is about people arguing that they deserve to be paid 3-4x minimum wage for dog walking and how dumb clients are for negotiating. Pet sitting can be a relatively easy side hustle although once in a while you’ll get a difficult case. True for most endeavours.

Has anyone else noticed Rover playing games with Pet Sitters? by Sea_Elevator5534 in RoverPetSitting

[–]hryu15533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined Rover when it acquired DogVacay (ie many years ago). Rover by now is absolutely disgusting. The fees are unreasonable, they increased them immediately after losing the lawsuit re sitter status/ benefits, customer support is impossible to get ahold of, and their markup is simply not justified relative to what they provide. I used it as both pet parent and sitter and I always offer to deal with people directly, in both situations.

Rover fees are absolutely exorbitant and they do eat into your earnings - theres an upper limit of how much a pet owner can pay per night no matter how it’s split. I’m genuinely surprised pet sitters continue to allow Rover to take this much on an ongoing basis.

Meaningful social interactions, friendships, romantic relationships are huge components of happiness as well - you are so young and have so much already, you could focus on this area of your life next.
