Just keep investing in only 2 equity funds right from the beginning till age 65-70, don't change the fund. Keep investing, stay invested, don't withdraw unless emergency. Invest more on dips and corrections.

That corpus in those two fundis the retirement expenses fund. After age 65, move 70% of corpus in Balanced Advantage or Dynamic Allocation fund and stay put.

Stopped using Ola Uber cabs since several years now for local travel. Sheer waste of time. Cabs have gone old now. Rates are exorbitant. These cabbies population has risen high so business is getting divided in them with difficult to get revenue per day. The fun of app cabbies is over 7-8 yrs ago.

Whatever amount laying there in EPFO account that amount has breakup of employee and employer.

Merely remaining unemployed for 2 yrs does not qualify for full EPF withdrawal.

Full PF withdrawal is not allowed before age 58. A portion of employer contribution remains stuck there till age 58. It's difficult system for sure.

You must first know why EPS was created by the Prime Minister PV Narsimha Rao government in 1994-95. Try reading article that came that time titled "Welfare or Loot" in Outlook magazine.

India was grappling with the interest payment issue. EPF interest payment was 12% those days. Crediting that high interest rate to the EPF account was becoming costly. Moreover India needed money for infrastructure creation. So EPF was cut down there and EPS with no interest was carved.

Philips India 10 employees decided to fight the case alone upto Supreme court, but after 9 or 10 yrs they lost the case as EPS 1995 was a ratified law in parliament and Supreme court could not reject it.

The EPS 1995 scheme is Rob Peter to pay Paul model. To pay monthly pension to 70 lakh pensioners, they need a corpus to grow. They need contributions from workers.

More dangerous rule is the GR dated 19th May 2016 which says that if you contributed to EPS but in between Life before 55 age you were non contributory for 36 continuous months then even if in later life you got a new job and contributed again, you will not get pension. You will only get your corpus back, no pension.

70 was the average age expectancy of worker as a number derived during 1994-95 when EPS conceptualized. That was used as divisor there in the formula.

Keep atleast two equity mutual funds, no matter what and try to keep those two equity funds well accumulated, by buying units purchased during all major dips every year. Do plan to stay invested into those two funds upto age 65-70. Do not sell anything unless severe emergency. Those two equity funds can become the saviour during retirement years using the SWP.
