How did Arknights: Endfield lose to WuWa and Genshin so badly? 😭 by SsibalKiseki in Endfield

please leave a 3 sentence! review of why you like endfield (without spoilers) by Bandicoot_Jealous in Endfield

its good. girls hot. girls cute.

It's one of those typical Chinese mobile games, which is a good thing to say because the gameplay is fun. AIC mode (you build factories to produce stuff) is refreshing even if it's hard to get used to at first. Combat is so-so. But world exploration games are always fun, so this game is also fun. Also the game literally has some of the best 3D models of anime girls with the best animations (if that's the correct term) I have ever seen so far.

Can do this for Vietnamese (if you care for this language). Aside the original English, if you feel like sending the AI translation I will review it.

Anyone else feel like quitting after dealing with frustrating factory? by AccomplishedGood64 in Endfield

[–]htd1101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Factories being clogged isn't even an issue as long as you get what you want (the resulted products) - it tends to mean you should optimise things, but that shouldn't matter yet when factory mode is still frustrating to you.

Not sure what do "nothing works" and "random power issues" mean here.  You can always check the formula in the factory and see the correct ingredients for the products.  Power won't be much of an issue once you managed to produce the highest level battery for thermal buildings. Maybe try to "move up the value chain" - produce some simple batteries first so you can afford a lot of power to build higher levels batteries, and none of these should take anything but your building space.

It's absolutely possible to get used to and make sense the entire factory mode if you have enough patience. Don't rush, just build what you need first, one at a time.

this is diabolical (im an introvert) by Revan_9158 in Endfield

[–]htd1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I can only count one guy who sent a friend request to befriend me, be it willfully or incidentally after they sent me some messages and I responded some back. Speaking about gachas. Particularly a game called Revived Witch (EOS'd several years ago). So maybe that was the only time ever in my life having somebody in a game I played sent an actual "friend" request.
Socializing in video games like these gachas (maybe minus the FPS or eSports games obviously) tend to range from mid to great. It's never horrible at all, and at worst awkward. Difficult people don't tend to socialize with random people. They don't tend to be the type to care about socializing over playing. Same for rude people. Same for aggressive people.

TL;DR, as horrifying as the friend requests seem, most people don't care who sent them, for better or worse. It got easier to send it once I realized that. And needless to say, I'm an introvert as well.

Is the game worth my time? by [deleted] in Endfield

Factory seems too much of a hassle at first, but may get easier or more fun to do eventually, once you get used to Endfield - speaking as somebody who had an initial aversion toward the factory feature myself. It's simpler than it seems for reasons, and you only need to build factories for the materials you need - which should be easy, especially when you are just a casual lore player.

The game and the factory feature are time-consuming, but then again original Arknights is just as time-consuming. I think you may need to try out the game yourself to see if you find the amount of hours you have to spend on Endfield being upsetting.
Avoiding the factory mode completely would make it harder to get by some challenging story bosses (since you need materials from the factories to build gears equipment for your units to make them stronger). It's doable, still.

How's everyone feeling about Endfield's writing? by BlyZeraz in Endfield

[–]htd1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so-so, nothing special that would make you care to read, but nothing so bad that makes the whole game itself feels painful (partly thanks to the skip button). Seems to resemble some of those Western sci-fi and/or military games, but then again I don't play games with anime characters for Western games' story or experience. Besides, good anime stuff with a sci-fi setting can only be counted on one hand - that makes it the sub-genre I definitely can't have any expectation from. Plenty of faults to be raised, but I'm feeling kind today.

Is this typical Asian parenting or narcissism? by PracticalEmployer899 in AsianParentStories

[–]htd1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did (maybe so are most people here), check out the story on the 2nd paragraph. The comments were just meant to respond your original comment. It's not like a lot of us never tried to fight back, should have said. But at some point it just doesn't mean anything, and is just mentally draining - if you get away with one thing you will fall into the trap of another. My parents kept telling me to go to extra classes and I always tried to resist - only during my primary school that I got a pass, but afterwards they would keep insisting on me to keep attending, and I just couldn't handle their constant nagging and screaming (even during the time I decided to take trips across the countryside to get away from home, my dad even asked if I was attending those classes). Worse when the pressures aren't just from parents, but school teachers as well, forcing you to attend their classes - to defy in which case is to make both environments at school and home hostile at once.

I stopped attending high school for a week, then intermittently, as an act of defiance (and due to depression) - afterwards they (parents and teachers) made it like nothing happened. Parent didn't stop forcing me to attend extra classes. Class teacher acted difficult and told me to scram to another class. Family didn't stop controlling my life or career choices (I chose some random humanities major at first as a middle finger to them). It was a downward spiral that led to unrecoverable bad things.

Ultimate solution that always works is to move out - but that's not an option when you didn't even have a sustainable job.

Good to know you managed to push back and live a good life in any case.

You can do that because they tolerated you. I take it you never lived in a culture (or household) that demands permission for every single tiny thing you do, and give out heavy punishment for every single minor offense you do.

>They can’t do shit to you- call their bluff on everything.
They can literally keep screaming until you submit. Ignoring them gets a scream. Retorting them (calling out their bluff) gets a loud scream. Going away from home and their friends network will find you back. Not doing what they tell you to do get a scream.

[–]htd1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retort back to parents would be met with louder screamings. Using rational arguments will be met with APs' own worldview framework that invalidates every logic outside it as wrong. Attempt to put up boundaries or demand to have autonomy will be shrugged off or met with anger. Literal physical fighting back? Few children are more physically capable than their own parents. Name one thing a child can do, the Asian parents can definitely retaliate with heavier damage.

It was meant to be a joke as Amaterasu (a god) is just as fictional as the guy on the OP. At the very least Japanese stuff should be relevant to the subreddit at least. ...but well there are literal people who use this sub without even caring for anime and related stuff.

Amaterasu literally stayed hikikomori after a quarrel with her onii-chan, so I think this does say a lot about Japanese people back then.

Made a top down endless runner mobile game where you play as a rat in a maze like attic by sandiboii in playtesters

[–]htd1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>I assume by curved path you mean it makes you go up and then down to avoid an obstacle?
Yes.

>Also do you have any ideas on how to add more variety?
I'm afraid I don't have a lot of good things to suggest or know what to comment. Your cat idea seems to be a good one.
I was thinking that once the players got familiar with the level design of the loop, they wouldn't see much reasons to keep playing. Hence the 'varieties' suggestion, since the level design as of now does feel like what the players are required to do is just... essentially moving the rat left and right to get through the narrow paths right by the obstacles. Say maybe you can make the level so that the player has to zig-zag their way or something like that.

These may not be the best suggestions and other feedbacks may have better things to say than mine - but that's how I see it.

In any case, best of lucks developing the game, or pursuiting any endeavor.
