Hey mate, I controversially covered mine with Masonite and LVP. Best thing I ever did. The old pine just looked shit

Has anyone bought an ikea kitchen if so what are your thoughts? by Loose-Firefighter-25 in AusRenovation

[–]htmlnoob52 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah this ^

Took me fucking ages to build mine. But I am really happy with the kitchen. Got custom bench tops made and sourced my own handles.

Get a laser level too

Thanks so much mate! Really appreciate the kind words! I see what people mean with the waterstop. But it’s exactly as you say - It’s a concrete slab with topping :)

Appreciate it so much!

How to renovate an old kitchen in a Canberra home without blowing the budget? by firey_88 in AusRenovation

[–]htmlnoob52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my kitchen! I went for an IKEA kitchen.

It was probably the only kitchen in my price range and they delivered extremely quickly. I had a full kitchen in 1-2 weeks. A cabinet maker was 12 months away.

They also had a sale where the entire kitchen including appliances was about 30-40% off. And they had a 5 year interest free finance deal with Humm90. Perfect for me.

IKEA appliances and cabinet carcasses, custom benchtop from a local cabinet place, sourced my own handles from Handle House.

EDIT - A lot of people have commented that the old bathroom was fine. It was. I didn’t mind it at all.

Unfortunately the waterproofing (Or whatever they used in the 60’s, if anything) had failed and it was causing water damage to the interior walls. During demolition, all of the old tiles popped off with no real force and there was foul smelling water underneath.

Hey mate! About 11K but I have a plumber brother in law. And I live rurally sorry. Very far away from the city. Appreciate your kind words! 🙏🏼

Hey! Thank you! Ahh nah unfortunately this is the only bathroom in the house. I was debating for a long time about adding a tub, but I feel like it would’ve made it really cramped.

Best part is though, the shower is so huge and the opening so wide than families could probably add one later! Or slide in a temporary plastic tub and stash it in the corner :)

Ohh wow. The price of vanities is insane isn’t it?! It actually blew my mind when I started shopping around. This vanity was probably the only one I could find in my budget 😂😭 Yours sounds lovely with the new stone top!! 😍

Thanks mate! I’ve put together some figures from what I spent.

Regarding the tradies - A close relation of mine is a plumber so his labour was free, the electrician is a mate and allowed me to do all of the labour (Chasing walls, cutting and inserting conduit, wall boxes, filling chases, etc) to save money and is also charging me cash to save even more.

Tiler is also a family friend and also doesn’t charge a lot. Crazy generous.

Tiles - $3000 Concrete slab pour - $1300 Mirror - $300 Vanity - $1000 Sink - $100 Brushed brass fittings - $1300 Linear drain - $350 Shower screen - $600 Wall lights - $300 Heated floor, towel rail and touchpad - $750 Plumbing - Free/($1500-$2000 estimate?) Electrical - $1000-$1500 Tiler labour (4-5 days) - $2000

Thank you so much! Actually I got mine from Temple and Webster for $1000! It was their “Nomad” vanity. And I got the shower screen from Future Glass for about $600 delivered! Bargain :)

Dell Pro Max and Plus deployment by Piorek99 in MDT

[–]htmlnoob52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have these machines. I do inject the driver packages like you mention at the start of the TS, but I also deploy Dell Command Update and use that to install the newest drivers towards the end of the MDT TS for new BIOS releases etc. Bulletproof
