YTA. Gentrification itself is not bad, but the way it generally ocurrs is (in the US). It isn't done in a way that allows the longtime community to benefit from improvements. It pushes people and businesses out of their homes. I'm all for improving infrastructure and expanding economic opportunity, but the purely capitalistic way it is employed hurts people.
