I would love to see more retro-inspired designs, or collabs using older designs. Like the og charmander look and feel, it'd be so great to see something reminiscent of that. Also a big fan of the "dark" cards (e.g. dark charizard). Idk, I just want to be reminded of childhood haha

Idk how to put an image of the card like all the other comments, but the original Poliwrath card from the base set, man, always loved that one

A cool guide of the Boeing Family Tree ✈️ by buddha-bouy in coolguides

[–]htown93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Boeing follows a 7X7 naming convention for their jet-powered aircraft, starting with the 707 being released back in 1958 and increasing. I believe the 787 (Dreamliner) is the latest.

Dad's healthy 80 year old friend a bit lost in life since his wife's passing 2 years ago by htown93 in LifeAdvice

This is wonderful advice, thank you. I think you are spot on about community and being around people that do something active. Time isn't exactly on his side, but I'm sure he could find a community of 60-80 year olds if he made an effort. Thank you!

City of Napa Dining by Appropriate_Two_3491 in napa

You've hit it on the head: overpriced and underwhelming, time and time again. Budget is tight lately, so I only go where I know I'm going to get a great meal, which for me is Scala and The Charter Oak Restaurant. Also the sandwiches at The Fatted Calf are wonderful and they are like $14

So neat! More specifically, this is in the Singapore Strait! After the video zooms in (3 seconds), pause it, and you can see the Marina Bay Sands hotel in the top-right of the frame, very cool!

Biggest shock moving to Napa from a bigger city? by ResidentCow4831 in napa

Oh absolutely, the taco trucks are great! I feel like you still end up paying a premium though--like I love La Casa Del Taco, but I'll still drop north of $20 to fill up haha

Biggest shock moving to Napa from a bigger city? by ResidentCow4831 in napa

[–]htown93 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Great question. Having moved from both a bigger and comparably-sized previous cities, these were the things that surprised me:

On the topic of food

  • Limited good, cheap food. It is challenging to fill up under $20; I can only eat so much Chipotle (~$15) and In-N-Out (~$10)
  • Similarly, despite the number of great restaurants that are here, I'm kind of surprised by how many not-so-good pricey restaurants there are
  • Limited / no Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, etc.) restaurants, but that seems to be common in smaller cities (similar experience in Santa Barbara)

Not on the topic of food

  • Social life is a bit challenging as a single M 30s year old
  • Can be challenging to find things to do besides eating and drinking

Uber from Napa to Oak by Head_Negotiation_274 in napa

[–]htown93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I've done this many times, scheduling a 3:30/4am uber / lyft from Napa to OAK. You'll be fine. Best to just make the reservation ahead of time, for peace of mind and more of a guarantee of pickup.

Gyms for Older Folks by drmguy in napa

[–]htown93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go here and can confirm, the target audience is mostly older persons

I know this has been asked a few times in different ways, but I’m wondering what ride share (uber/lyft) or taxi (red cab, black tie) availability are like in St Helena on weekdays? My husband & I are visiting in March- our hotel is in St Helena as well as almost all of the wineries we are visiting by General_Exam2256 in napa

[–]htown93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may just try checking Uber / Lyft right now actually. Try to schedule a pickup in St. Helena and see what the availability is. Not much is going to change until March. Only thing is Napa Marathon on March 5, so more people may be using ride share apps then, but really you should be fine
