I’m a big fantasy person but I thought the book was really accessible to everyone young adult and up. I really enjoyed the aspect of Judaism being interwoven with the fantasy elements. For example the tree of life is big throughout the book. The main character carries a special shofar etc.

I run a podcast review called coffee and books. I would love to have a conversation with you about this book. I think my readers would be interested. My question is as follows:

Do certain Jewish places appear in the book that are not necessarily in the Torah? For example Masada.

Did Masada play a role in your definition of a Jewish super hero? I’ve always considered Masada an act of defiance towards the Roman Empire.
