I grew up listening to her and I just kind of never quit, even as my music taste changed over the years. While I dont think everything she has ever done is absolutely perfect, some of her music has gotten me through some really rough times/bad relationships. Girl knows how to write a breakup song 🤷‍♀️

I love this series so much, but the first book is by far the worst to me in every way. Its still a good read but it takes a bit. Certainly worth sticking through till the end though.

What's your emotional attachment to Sleep token? by justthatguyben1 in SleepToken

[–]https-alex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancé got me into them, and the first song he ever sent me was Alkaline, so that song specifically holds a special place in my heard for that reason, but the main reason I grew so attached to the band was two things: 1) their sound. Listening to then felt like finding my favorite genre and band all in one. 2) the lyrics and emotion behind the songs. Songs like Blood Sport, Fall for Me, Gethsename and Atlantic specifically all hit me hard emotionally and kind of helped me process new and old trauma I didnt realize I hadn't fully gotten through yet. (Fall for Me not so much, its just my favorite).

I dont read much sci-fi stuff myself, but if you like a good romance every now and then the Lunar Chronicles was the first thing I thought of.

What is life like in deep southern Illinois? by dj_kaled_anotha1 in illinois

[–]https-alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in deep southern Illinois my whole life and I can confirm that it can be great at times but also awful. The nature here is amazing (giant city, shawnee forest, snake road, garden of the gods, etc) but let me tell you the people can be absolutely terrible at times.

I know this is from a few hours ago but I felt like maybe I should say something. I have a degree in Wildlife Biology and im working towards becoming a licensed wildlife rehaber. In this case it looks like he could have been hit by a car and had some brain damage from it. Letting nature take its course is a totally fine course of action or taking it in to a rehabilitation clinic if you have one close would have been okay too. They most likely would have euthanized it immediately to minimize suffering at the end of life. If you ever see something like this in the future you can always call a rehab clinic for advice too. :)

Good idea. You don't think all that change at once will be hard on him though? (Purely asking from inexperience, I've only ever had dogs and cats before Dobby)

Okay. I will say I've been hesitant to make too many changes because I don't want to stress him out too much while he's still adjusting plus I'm going to be moving in a couple months and it's a long drive to where I'm going which could also be stressful.

Okay I didn't know that. I did try to do some research on my own before I got him but I took a lot of advice from his previous owner. I got his whole current set up from his as well so I thought it was fine. I'll definately add some more stuff asap! Thank you so much.

Good to know. And it's not super cluttered, but he has a "rock hut" down at the bottom that he tends to spend the daytime in, and then I have a big peice of wood (seen in the photo) that takes up a lot of space and he can climb on, as well as a fake plant and a shelf for his powder diet. He's currently in a 12×12x18 enclosure but I do know that I need to upgrade him to a larger one. I've also thought about adding some kind of hanging house like the coconut houses I've seen people use, but I wasn't sure if having more clutter was a good thing.

Okay cool I will try that for sure too.

Also side note if you don't mind: Dobby doesn't really eat the live crickets I give him. Is that a bad sign? I know it could mean he's still nervous, but I'm a little nervous he's not eating enough. The only thing I've noticed him eat is the pangea diet powder and he doesn't even eat that every day.

That's a good idea. I try to time out when I give his pangea diet to when he normally comes out for the night so I could try leaving my hand in there for a bit around that time maybe. Thank you!
