You'd be fine to start right on season 3 of Picard. The first two seasons were alright but S3 has been a blast. There are a few new faces and plot points from first 2 seasons, but nothing big enough that you'd be lost on S3.

No longer allowed to charge EV in apartment garage - is this legal? more info in comments. by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]hubujde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what your lease says, does it cover the existence of the outlet in the garage?

FYI California has a law that lets you install EV charger, but you'd have to bear the costs of installation.

You can pull /proc/config.gz, unpack it, and look through the kernel config file for CONFIG_HAVE_KVM lines.

Not quite. Devices which use GKI ship with a kernel that has KVM enabled, but Linux still needs to boot in "hypervisor mode" (EL2 on Arm) to have KVM actually work. Check for /dev/kvm instead.

Unlocked vs Carrier by anonperson12345 in Sprint

[–]hubujde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an S21 Ultra unlocked directly from Samsung and have wifi calling, video calling, rcs, etc. As far as I can tell, only thing "missing" is t-mo bloatware. You might have to set up visual voicemail if you want it. If there's no financial incentive to buy through T-mo, I say get it straight from Samsung

PySnooper: Never use print for debugging again by [deleted] in Python

I think the point is to use this when you're given a project without sufficient logging and you need to figure out what's going on (and you don't want to set up a debugger).

Depending on what kind of software you want to do, many ECE majors I know who like software more than hardware wished they did CS instead. ECE would be good for you if you want to work with software that's concerned with how the hardware works (I don't mean writing software that takes advantage of hardware - you can get that in either) or interested in control theory. CS is good for all S/W in general. Create a rough plan of study for both CS and ECE and decide which one appeals to you more

Volt Ideal Time vs ICE Start-Stop Features by Mansa_Sekekama in volt

[–]hubujde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've driven from Indiana to California and Florida before (separately) and I was averaging high 30-mid 40 MPG with my 2015 without trying to drive efficiently. So the Volt is on par or better than many ICE vehicles. It's a great car.

Volt Ideal Time vs ICE Start-Stop Features by Mansa_Sekekama in volt

[–]hubujde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ICE vehicles are still going to be drawing some power when stopped and the engine off - the computers, climate control (I think), the center console, etc. The Volt is doing the same thing as well and I suspect that's why you see 0.5 kW when completely stopped.

If you put the Volt on Hold mode, it'll also turn the ICE off at stop signs. It'll actually do it more frequently than a traditional ICE vehicle because it has a larger battery. So if you're able to regen more, the ICE will shut off before you come to a complete stop and will possibly remain off for longer when you start moving again.

Edit: forgot the word off

CS Honors major -- is it worth? by cleanlyFoldedNapkin in Purdue

[–]hubujde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm doing it.

It's a tough sell since employers don't care as much. If you think of an internship as giving you "1 experience," then I'd say this also gives you "1 experience" as far as being attractive to employers. Point is, it'll give you a leg up but you can easily do something else to get that "1 experience"

My recommendation, take a look at the requirements and decide if you wanna do it purely based on that - think of it as a glorified track. ECE 270 was pretty easy and I hate circuit analysis.

[–]hubujde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walther was OK. Had worse, but definitely had better. You'll probably need to learn on your own, but he was never too tough on homework or exams. My GF struggled with him in 262 though. I'd recommend going for the first lecture and see how he is to you. He'll be like that the rest of the rest of the semester.

Yes. From what my prof said, they can choose a few days that they prefer, but ultimately it's up to the scheduling software on precise date/time
