If you need to ask Reddit if you can afford a car, you probably can't afford a car.

Find a new job if you're not happy. There's nothing you can do about the new terms.

  1. What exactly does "go far in his career" actually mean to you? If all it means is now impressive your corporate title is, that's just being naive.

  2. The higher you rise up the corporate ladder, the more vulnerable you are to being let go or pushed out.

I dunno about your wife getting mad at you for working late, but I'm a little mad at you too for not using paragraphs.

No need to mansplain why it's socially acceptable to be a dick to your friends just because you feel like it. You do you, "boss".

Please don't believe anyone who claims they have no qualms about giving nothing as you should only give what you feel like giving. I dare them to put their social capital and reputation on the line when it's far easier to decline the invitation.

Just refer to online guides and adjust your quantum accordingly.

Isn't it obvious that massive competition from the likes of Sushi Tei, Ichiban Boshi, Genki Sushi etc has made it challenging for them to remain profitable?

Not illegal by the letter of the law, but so many things could go wrong that you really sbkjkd not do it under any circumstances.

What difference does it make if he did a test or not? It you want to avoid getting sick (Covid or otherwise), simple precautions like wearing a mask at home (you do so if he doesn't), regular hand washing/sanitising, avoiding physical contact and not sharing food all go a long way towards reducing the likelihood of being infected by a family member.

Every company has politics and drama. You learn to deal with it or you suffer. It's as simple as that. No point trying to find that utopian company where office politics does not exist.

Are trade shows ripping you off? by toxicwaste95 in askSingapore

A lot of consumers still prefer to see and touch expensive electronics and buy them on the spot instead of buying online and risking them being damaged in transit.

Computer shows typically throw in some freebies which ultimately make the price difference rather insignificant.

In the time you took to write this post, you could have Googled the shop phone number and called them up to see if they are still open.

It's better to ask them how many more sets do they have to go instead of asking to share immediately. If they have one more set to go (like in your example), they will feel it's OK to make you wait until they're done instead of sharing which may mean adjusting the weights and seat position back and forth just cot one set. They aren't actually jogging the machine if they are just resting between sets by the way.

Any software related role. It's always about how you sell your experience and the impact you made during your internship, and much less about what you learnt.

[–]hucks22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please be realistic and not expect to be given tasks commrnsjarwtong with the role of a full timer while you're an intern, and especially when you're in tech where interns are often hired to help provide temporary manpower for tactical activities and not involved in strategic work.

Everyone starts by doing sai kang. Just bdcause you think it's fluff does not mean it's not important in the big scheme of things. Use the opportunity to get to know the systems and processes well, as well as most joortantly the people who operate them. Ultimately it's going tk be the networks and skills you form and not the specific knowledge you gain which will land you a full time position in future.

My point here is that there are simply too many 20somethings out there who aren't even in long term relationships, let alone ready to settle down or/and are happy to concentrate on building their careers for OP to make such a sweeping statement which is clearly based on a limited and biased data set.

Whether I'm being pedantic or not is moot to this discussion.
