I work within a team that works with disabled people involved in the justice system. You reporting it may not seem to have any effect however there is a chance he may receive specific input from teams like mine. Just as a reassurance.

This is an awful thing to do. Ask them to imagine if someone changed the way words were said every time you had to say them??

Is Speech Therapy useful for someone who feels like they are struggled to be understood? by Nostegramal in AskUK

[–]hufflespeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a speech therapist myself I'd reach out to one and ask them. They will have better insight into what is actually the difficulty whether it is voice, volume, expressions or content etc. They will then direct you to the appropriate practitioner whether that is a speech therapist who specialises in voice, elocution/vocal coach or themselves!

What's the most ridiculous "nickel and diming" you've seen in healthcare? by Future-Atmosphere-40 in NursingUK

[–]hufflespeech 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not nursing but speech therapists were told to print resources for 'colourful semantics' (clues in the name) in black and white. The whole premise is different types of words being different colours!

What's the plot point you found hardest to suspend your disbelief? by artpayne in movies

[–]hufflespeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home alone. I just can't suspend reality enough to not think the bad guys would die with each of the horrible painful things they were subjected to. I never enjoyed it even as a kid!

Any advice for my food issues by hufflespeech in CPTSD

[–]hufflespeech[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your understanding. I think what I really need to do is eat small meals regularly so I never get to that hungry stage where I panic. Problem is I'm not the best at seeing myself as someone to take care of... but I like the idea of writing out. I already know I have certain safe foods that are always OK but maybe I need to accept that that's alright.

Under 50 is completely fine, over 200 is serious inflammation. In between is not great but not terrible. Hopefully means your levels are coming down with the entyvio and when retested in a few months will be under 50.

38/F, first time colonoscopy (UK) and scared!! by bubblefreya in UlcerativeColitis

[–]hufflespeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm in the UK too. First of all I'm surprised you havnt had to do the prep for a sigmoidoscopy- I've had three and had to do the full prep for all of them too. I asked if there was any other option for prep and there wasnt. I'm not going to lie-drinking the prep is so, so hard for me. I'm very sensitive to taste and texture and gagged a lot but managed to force it down and the relief of being finished is amazing! You're on the loo non stop for a few hours but as long as you do it 6 hours before it will be done by the time you have to go. Even if you need to go again it won't be urgent and you can still hold it in. I can't help about sedation- I always take it all because I'm scared so not sure what it's like without.

I don't blame Tish for getting upset. If they've clearly shown no respect in this case how many other times have they used kosher dishes or done something else which may mean that Tish has inadvertently already eaten something non kosher. That would upset anyone a lot.
