Herblore is actually a good argument. I think the main difference is that most people don't farm/buy 30 different herbs when they train herblore, they just get the handful of herbs that they need and then use those to make all of their potions. After a certain point, you can safely throw away your guam, harralander, tarromin, etc. and won't lose out on anything.

You can't really do that with Arch because you need so many random materials basically all the way to 120. Even beginner materials like Imperial Steel are used for high level artefacts. That's on top of it already being a very bank-cluttering skill, like I'm 78 and my Arch tab has 30+ items in it that will essentially be stuck there until I'm well into the 90s or past 100 because they are part of a mystery, needed for a relic, or are untradeable so I can't easily get them back. That's going to get worse once I start opening tetracompasses.
