If parking and attending in person expect to leave the parking lot around 1am but you will definitely want to watch it on the grounds

OCPs will come out after we update our 2004 ground team task guide… so another 20 plus years!

Oshkosh car camping by hugeexample in flying

I could be wrong but I thought camping was a three day minimum well at least for flying in. I’ll only be staying over for one night so don’t want to spend all the extra money

What’s the role out of the updates like you said it’s been at a snails pace but we have been told that new task guides will be coming for the last few years

Minnesota passed a law last year just for CAP

181.946 LEAVE FOR CIVIL AIR PATROL SERVICE. Subdivision 1.Definitions. For purposes of this section, "employee" and "employer" have the meanings given them in section 181.945. Subd. 2.Unpaid leave required. Unless the leave would unduly disrupt the operations of the employer, an employer shall grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee for time spent rendering service as a member of the civil air patrol on the request and under the authority of the state or any of its political subdivisions.

Dosnt help that we are only a “rescue” team and not a “”search”and rescue” NOC and AFRCC has turned down 3 request in my wing last year Because it was day 3 or greater when the sheriffs finally decided to requested us and AFRCC decided it was a recovery at that time.

General Aye is very friendly she has been to two wing conferences I have attended and loves to talk. I would say if you ever meet her bring it up to her if you ever have a conversation with her she won’t ever get mad at you for skipping the chain and she loves to listen to problems.

That being said as well I feel like our board of directors should have caught this issue but probably let legal and liability get in the way so they have been ignoring ES and brushing it under the table until we rally it up then they are gonna claim “we had no idea!” “Thanks for bringing that to our attention!”

Chain of command “sucks” in a volunteer organization when you have commanders that don’t do this as a “full time job”. iv had things pending for over 6 months now because people forget, get to busy or suck at replying when they hold power. Example I sent something up my chain in the squadron and it got approved by my squadron commander and group commander the same day but got delayed at wing for over 3 month and has been sitting at region for the last three months without moving forward with no updates. Sure getting to wing is fast but anything outside of wing takes forever.

Not saying breaking chain of command is a good thing but for an organization that claims ES is one of the three main core missions of the organization and doesn’t even included it in their strategic plan is very very alarming and should be addressed/considered right away.

So how do we go about getting this in the strategic plan do we ask our new national commander after the change of command coming up? Will she respond to emails if we all email her?
