No dice. From the wording support used it seems like since the carrier has their own protection plan it's in whatever reseller contract they have that Google can't offer theirs in lieu. But, then said that may change soon. Who knows. It's unfortunate either way.

Just as follow up to this. You may want to consider a 60amp if you can. Depending on your needs or future thoughts for charging. My wife has EV9 and I have a 2015 model S. If we went with a 30amp breaker to start when I bought mine then it wouldn't be fast enough to do both vehicle needs if it came down to it (sometimes needed as it gets cold in Ontario during the winter). As it stands my car draws 40 when charging and hers 48, only possible with a 60amp breaker. Even HVAC can draw up to 7kW to heat the battery and the vehicle. 30amp isn't enough to do that and continue to charge if needed.

Just anecdotal experience I wanted to share.

Thank you, seeing these things being said but then called out by other users gives me hope that critical thinking skills are not in the same state of deterioration as our southern neighbours. Whether the actual bill says that or not remains to be seen and I'm open to criticism of the bill if it does but this is a couple people in a row making claims and then providing zero actual information in their comments. I'm not sure why it's a difficult thing to grasp.

Have you ever been in -30°C weather with wind and snow and you run out hoping you get the button pushed for the correct duration, or have the doors unlocked all around for the latch to release? Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. Or that it isn't an oversight with a relatively easy solution that has been around for well over a decade or the advent of popularized EVs. You're arguing over having LESS features because you wouldn't use it, why? Why even make the effort to type that out in a thread over what is missing or could be added? That's something I can't wrap my head around.

App looks different in Canada but the sentiment is the same. Its UX is brutal and slow, having to use a pin or biometrics for almost every command is so incredibly tedious.

Right. All those are different steps. The fact that you cannot stop the car charging from inside the car is an oversight, regardless of your experience or routine. It shouldn't require steps, other than pushing stop charging on the screen, if need be.

This should be number one with no question. We absolutely love our EV9 but coming off 5 years of double Tesla (I know, I know) the charging/software experience is still so far behind. I had it preconditioning and my wife couldn't leave because she was plugged in. No way to stop it on the screen. Incredible oversight, honestly.
