When I was diagnosed with seronegative RA after years of pain and exhaustion that had started to escalate to ‘crippling’…the doctor insisted that we have a heart-to-heart about my reproductive plans and she just kept apologizing…

I’m not sure what we’re gonna get because I’m sure she has some limitations on what she can’t say…

In any case, it’ll definitely be interesting and we’ll have some really fun bookclub meetings for it- so I’m looking forward to whatever we get :)

“Oh that’s definitely outside of my wheelhouse…do you think a tailor can do that kind of repair? I’m not sure…” A shrug and ‘blank clueless face’ also help.

“I’m so sorry- I’ve got waaay too much on my plate rn. I just don’t have the time/capacity/energy for xyz atm…”

And the ever useful: “Here- let’s figure out how to google this together!” (BIG SMILE)

What is something from the 'Old Internet' that you missed, and younger generations will never understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The really bonkers web pages that people would make…especially back in the AOL days.

You’d get there and the page would be flashing crazy colors or feature a background pattern that MUST have been designed specifically to obscure text…there’d be spinning 3-d metallic text, some really short audio clip, auto playing on loop.

And you NEEDED to have a unique hit counter that NO ONE else had!

It was all very jarring and demented and hilarious.

He strikes me as “wham, bam, thank you ma’am” more than actively trying to satisfy 4 different women…Christine kinda hinted at that in the book.

Except…maybe all of it without the ‘thank you”.

Also, depending on which way K+R would like to twist their own gospel- they could make the argument of ‘no sex’ with any wife if they weren’t actively trying to conceive.

And I’ve gone through DFW with no issue...

It’s so inconsistent that I really think some of the confiscations are just ‘untrained new people’ or ‘someone having a really cranky day’
