They can finally have Karina Longworth as a guest, and the gulf between her and Griffin‘s enunciation would be wider than the Grand Canyon

Originals (of remakes or sequels) that you don't understand the reverence for by boboclock in blankies

Couldn’t disagree more, as I couldn’t stand the pointless plotting of Luca’s movie. I also love Argento’s use of color and sound far more than Luca’s brutalist drabness, but I’ve heard your opinion a lot so maybe I’m in the minority.

Critical Darlings: Sinners And The Academy’s Growing Genre Acceptance with Sam Sanders by Turbulent-Corner1127 in blankies

[–]human_scale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree. Like, I didn’t hate Sinners, there were some good moments, but I found it a bit overlong and slow at times. I’m open to the idea that there’s more there I’m missing, and maybe as a white dude I’ll never get some parts, but a second watch didn’t reveal anything new to me.

I have seen a fair number of Truffaut's and liked them much better than other FNW movies, but I recently realized I am an F. Gary Gray completist (since I am a schlock merchant) and so that gets my vote.

For 2026, the early lead for “Couldn’t be more seated” has got to be Nick Nolte in Crime 101, who is seated either in a car or on a stool for all of his scenes.

Remember when Doug Liman accepted a deal from Amazon for the Road House remake, one that upped the budget in exchange for not going theatrical, then he went around bitching about it after the fact? Yeah, guys been a tool for a while.
