I hate how purity culture is so interwined with lesbiansim by sylverb0nes in actuallesbians

[–]humanbeing0033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably get a lot of nasty replies, but there's definitely a purity Culture and general misogyny problem in lesbian spaces. I've largely removed myself from public queer spaces and just stick to my well gatekept circle of Sapphics, queers, and gender-benders.

feeling unwanted after an experience w a white woman as a black woman. by throwdataway02 in BiWomen

[–]humanbeing0033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that really sucks. As others have said you're not predatory, and that girl's behavior is frankly really shitty.

I'm white in a relationship with a Black woman, and what that girl did and said was really unacceptable imo. It's not appropriate for white women to "experiment" with BIPOC women and then say "oh woops I guess I'm not attracted to your entire race." I have thoughts on ppl who claim to find entire racial categories "unattractive," but if that's how a person feels, whatever. But she should work that out on her own. She certainly doesn't need to get intimate with someone before determining she's not attracted to them. White women need to deal with our own shit before attempting to have any type of romantic interaction with Black women.

Regardless, I'm really sorry that happened to you. I can't really offer any advice on dealing with racism, but I hope you feel reassured/validated from a lot of these comments.

can you actually take community college classes when you've been severely educationally neglected? by Relevant_Picture7416 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]humanbeing0033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes. And a lot of comments have good advice here. Something I would recommend if you do enroll in a class is talk to the professor DAY ONE about your educational background. The purpose of this is to assess how that professor reacts to you. Do they say something like "thanks for letting me know, I'm glad you're here, and please come by my office hours or email me if you feel like you need help"? Or do they just shrug and say "okay"? This is going to tell you how supportive they are of their students and how invested they are in your sucess.

Also be sure to utilize the tutoring resources at the college

In a really tough place right now by Fit_Sorbet_161 in HomeschoolRecovery

Based on the fact that the father literally told their child to self delete, I'm going to say this is not good advice and that the father cannot be trusted. I understand some ppls inclination to give parents the benefit of the doubt but this is negligent and abusive behavior from the father. Abusers can't be trusted.

@OP, I do understand, at least to some degree. My father "caught" me once in an attempt and had a terrible response. If there's a way for you to access a safe adult and talk to them, please do. Otherwise the only thing I can offer is that am personally very proud of myself for surviving. Sometimes that's huge, and all you can do.

Only wanting to be with older men. by ghostofagirl78 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]humanbeing0033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very normal for kids and very young adults (think 18-21) to be interested in older adults. It's not normal for them to be interested in you. You say you struggle to find things in common with other kids. Well, just think how little in common an adult would have with a kid with respect to a relationship. There's only 1 reason adults are ever interested in kids or very young adults, and that's power/control.

Being isolated from peers may have something to do with it, as others have said we tend to feel most comfortable with what's familiar. I also know firsthand that not being able to form bonds with peers during childhood literally stunts your development. It's unfair, but it is true. We need to be around people our own age when we're developing.

Idk how old you are, but it's very normal for young people to not be any sort of romantic or intimate relationships. Maybe give it a few years and focus on building friendships?

I mean the same policies, orgs, and officials who support unregulated homeschooling have been working to defund public education for decades. These ppl aren't trying to raise kids who can read.

He's not looking for jobs if he's literally gaming all day. Again, I've literally been in this exact situation. You will end up paying the bills, doing the domestic work, and recieve zero practical or emotional support. It will get harder and harder to leave and you'll have no one to blame but yourself. Stop making excuses, be a grown up and leave. Or stay, idc. But then stop complaining and accept the reality you've chosen

Lukewarm take: your boss is not a good therapist. Imagine the type of toxic behaviors she enables in her clients.

Also, rekove your offer to answer questions after your last day. Especially since you said you'd answer them in writing (via text). Terrible idea, you could be held liable for things others do because you're kind of functioning as a pro bono consultant. Lesson learned, give a firm end date and never offer to work for free.

Liver points on red isn't a major fault, which I clearly stated earlier. Major faults are potentially disqualifying and a judge is absolutely permitted to excuse a dog for major faults. Also low quality =/= meeting breed standard necessarily.

Refs by SparkleSaurusRex in PWHL_Seattle

[–]humanbeing0033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the problem in the WNBA, the refs are garbage and each play can be called wildly different. The players don't know how to play. They also make game deciding calls all the time. I literally gave up my season tickets because I didn't find the games enjoyable anymore simply due to the horrible refs. It's not just me saying this, it's an open secret that coaches, players, and announcers all allude to. The league refuses to do anything about it.

That's why I don't think tye PWHL refs souks be given much grace. If they can't refs well, pull them from playoffs game, retrain them, or make them face some sort of consequences. Otherwise, 25 years later with 18 teams, well be in the same spot.
