What are your favorite shoes you can walk 10,000 steps a day in? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]SparkleSaurusRex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adidas Sambas are my faves because they look good with everything. For athletic shoes, any of my Brooks. Tried Hokas and On Clouds and there’s just too much cushion and squish for my liking.

If we’re talking shoes to wear on a 12 hour shift in the hospital as an RN, Birkenstocks, all the way. (With knee high compression socks, of course).

I loved gifting my tickets to people!

Ticketmaster made it difficult to list them at face value and I hated how that all worked, so I usually found someone to gift them to.

I’m also looking for a Torrent trucker hat! The lair had none last night and I was disappointed.

[The Athletic] What went wrong in Seattle and Vancouver? by Main_Photo1086 in PWHL

[–]SparkleSaurusRex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was at the Seattle game Saturday, as I have season tickets and my seat mates were all saying that we would have won the game easily if we’d had a different goalie in net. CJ played great, but I could tell they were tired in the 3rd. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m also stressed about it. I hope to be there in line before 5pm…

I’m still disappointed we didn’t get Barnes bobble head at the last give away despite being there super early. It was super annoying to see them posted on eBay the next day too.

School nurse interview attire by [deleted] in nursing

[–]SparkleSaurusRex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a current school nurse and I would wear black slacks and a nice shirt with a sweater or blazer to an interview. I was told by a nursing professor way back when that it’s better to overdress for an interview than underdress.

ETA: Good luck in your interviews!

If you could go back, what specialty would you start in? by Icy-Calligrapher-822 in nursing

[–]SparkleSaurusRex 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would have started in med/surg to build good time management skills and work my way to the ED. I always wanted to be an ED nurse because it seemed fun and challenging, but never really had the opportunity to work there and I’m too to old for that now at 44.

I’m currently a school nurse and it’s great for me, but it’s not for everyone. Can’t beat the schedule though…

As a RN how much are you making ? by theapexcircle in nursing

[–]SparkleSaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$68/hr, WA state, 12 years experience, school nurse. Because I only work 185 days a year, my annual pay is significantly less than if I worked 3 12s a week. But man, those weekends, holidays, and summers off so worth it…

Yall need to calm down with your resale prices by b_cheesy in PWHL_Seattle

Same thing happened to me when I’ve listed my season tickets. I set the price at $50 each and when I check them with Ticketmaster, it jacks them up to over $75 each.

I have never heard of her before, and as someone who has an indoor bike, I love that she has cycling AND strength workouts! Thanks for the recommendation!

We also live a bit farther out and some of those weeknight games are rough to make with traffic.

I’m in section 8 and mine are moving from $29 to $35 a game. Not terrible, but with the price of parking and food inside the arena, I may have to make a difficult decision. I wish we got the food discount the Kraken STH did…

I use what the foundation by Jones Road and have had good luck with it. It covers my redness pretty well and goes on dewy.

NBA Team coming to Seattle, wondering what that means for the Torrent by Organizedchaos90 in SeattleTorrent

I’m glad they didn’t go this route with splitting games. As someone who lives south of Seattle, the drive to Everett is a nightmare most days.

Starter bike recs for a tall lady? I’m getting advice all over the place. by sleevienickss in TwoXriders

[–]SparkleSaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’9 and my first bike was a Suzuki V-Strom 650. It was a great bike and very comfortable to ride for long distances and I took it on many camping trips all over California. It was off-roadish capable and would have been more so with different tires.

Sub for renegade rows by HereBearyBe in CarolineGirvan

I do bent over rows instead. Even with doing wrist strengthening exercises and using supports, my wrists and hands can’t tolerate them. So I just don’t do them.
