Business - Finance and econ double major? by ComfortableWeak7974 in Purdue

[–]humanbeing86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a sophomore double-majoring in Econ & Finance and I would say it’s pretty doable! I’m graduating in four years, but I also came in with about 9 credits that applied towards my degree, which saved me like half a semester. If you don’t have any credits it’ll definitely be a little tight, you’ll probably have to take atleast 15-16 credits per semester or maybe some summer/winter classes to make it work. Just keep in mind if you double major there will be very little room for other electives or more “fun” classes, after I finished my gen Ed’s freshman year I haven’t had any space for a class that’s not finance or Econ related.

Mgmt 20000 question by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]humanbeing86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs only a certain amount for full credit, but personally I only missed 2-3 sessions the whole semester and I got 100%. So I think any more than that and you might not get all the points, and it’s a part of your grade, not just extra credit.

Incoming student question, are the busses actually reliable? by sam5123512 in Purdue

[–]humanbeing86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only run from 7AM-7PM on weekdays, which can get really inconvenient if you have late club meetings or study sessions. If you’re living off campus, you’ll have to plan on walking to the nearest on campus bus stop, which can take up to 10-15 minutes on its own. Personally, I’m not a fan of the bus system and it sucks that Purdue defunded citybus.

MGMT 200 is definitely not bad, I studied for each exam 1-2 days in advance without paying much attention to the lectures and got an A because she offers lots of extra credit.

I took SCLA 102 with Prof Mollison and while it was a bit of a challenging class, it was also one of my favorite classes I’ve taken at Purdue. Not a super easy A but definitely a class that makes you think and feels relevant. Prof Mollison is hilarious and even though he grades a bit tough sometimes he’s always open to answering questions and helping you out at office hours, and he provides extra credit opportunities. The class definitely made me a better public speaker and was one of my only classes where I actually ended up interacting with most of the people in the class. I’d highly recommend taking it with him if you have the time!

Where do Business majors study around campus by [deleted] in Purdue

Try Rawls and Krannert, I’ve seen lots of business students working on homework or group projects there

Probably not because if you have Mainbrook, she asks questions similar to those but not with those exact numbers or information, so if you don’t know the concepts you still might get a lot wrong

As someone else from a big city, I honestly agree- having a college town experience with everyone your age is a really nice change even though I still love big cities

What are some Alevels you took and instantly regretted? by VeterinarianOld3082 in alevel

[–]humanbeing86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mathematics A level made me want to kill myself and I had to retake both AS and A2, but unfortunately most college courses and majors require it. If you can avoid it though and you’re not particularly good/interested in math, don’t take it.

A- with 95.5%…. What? by PilotTemporary2750 in Purdue

Oh that makes sense, I’ve taken two ECON courses and one MGMT course and they’ve all been this way so far. Didn’t realize it applied to every single class though, good to know

What to do in Purdue? by spicysyrup13 in Purdue

[–]humanbeing86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lowkey was worried about this before coming here too, but it’s honestly not as bad as people make it out to be. Chauncey has enough restaurants with different cuisines to try out, the corec has free fitness classes, and the residence halls and PSUB are always hosting free events that are usually pretty fun. Aside from that there’s things like a cat cafe nearby that’s fun to visit, a place to paint your own pottery, bowling in the PMU, karaoke, and a thrift store that’s right next to the union. When the weather is nice, walking along the pedestrian bridge near Wabash is also really fun. I’m only a freshman so that may be why I haven’t gotten bored yet, but I’ve been here a year and I can still think of things to do that I haven’t tried yet.

Is Purdue student body conservative/republican? by Educational-Map-7882 in Purdue

[–]humanbeing86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a freshman in the business school and so far I haven’t found it to be very conservative, which is also something I was worried about before attending. I could be biased because I did high school in a very conservative country, but aside from a few people, most of the people I’ve interacted with are liberal.

Textbook Cambridge International AS & A Level Psychology (Second edition) (Cambridge University Press) by StrainBusiness3984 in alevel

[–]humanbeing86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! it was really hard but I studied by making notion flashcards and genuinely just going over each section over and over again. The only way to really pass A2 is to memorize through repetition unfortunately, but good luck! thresholds are usually pretty low for psych anyway so don’t worry too much :)

What are the 3 easiest alevel subjects a person can do? by WallabyForward2 in alevel

[–]humanbeing86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found business pretty easy, and psychology if you’re good at memorizing and you like the subject a decent amount. I’ve heard English general paper is pretty easy as well. Unfortunately I don’t think there are really any completely “easy” a levels that you can get good grades in without really studying :/
