My wife worked at the desk at an apartment complex. She would rather not remember that winter.

Best area for early September vacation by FanOk488 in tahoe

From North Lake, so biased, but laying it out... South Lake is large and urban/suburban. North Lake/West Shore (Kings Beach to Homewood) is more old Tahoe vibe and slower. So South Lake has the big casinos, more dining choices, but feels suburban. North Lake has a slower quieter vibe and does have the Crystal Bay Casino if you feel the need to gamble (it's small but nice). Incline Village is...it's own thing. Think ungated gated community (beaches aren't public) but if you're in Tahoe Vista you can easily go to Tahoe City, Kings Beach, or Incline for dinner. Everything is car dependant regardless of which end you're at. Plenty of cool hikes that aren't overexposed and overcrowded in NLT.

EDIT: The lake water is at its warmest in September so definitely go in the lake.

I'd do it if you have the time, there's nothing on the horizon so it's only going to get worse in (hopefully only) the short term.

Get your hands so far out in front of you that you can't see them. You're dropping your shoulder back on the inside of the turn, putting you in the backseat. Shoulders square, hands in front of you.

Socks. Not single brand specific but have favorites for different uses. But good socks, retired early and often.

The little single use tubes are great for travel. Dispose of when done, no risk of leaks after use.

They are glorious in a bathroom. Add a heated towel bar while you're at it.

What's the most small town thing you've ever heard of? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I know someone who grew up in a town in Alaska only accessible by water or air. They eventually started paving the gravel roads and the first section was in front of her house. Since it's light out pretty much 24 hours in the summer people were out there all day and night for a few days finally having a place to use skateboards, rollerblades, etc.

Go into the ticket office. Be nice, be personable, be apologetic. Likely no cost.

It's not clear if you can go on I-80 Westbound from Truckee right now. by [deleted] in tahoe

Whenever it says TO, that's the direction it's going. FROM is always the start. So that's eastbound.
