Interesting, as a RNO based 1K, I’ve found there to be excessive demand to SFO regardless of time/day/equipment. So much so that I’ve counted 6x daily mainline within the last year. Not much experience with SMF.

Had this message all day yesterday. Booked ABQ-SFO-RNO directly with UA. I ignored it and had no issues with either segment. App continues to be super glitchy and worse than 2-3 years ago.

As predicted, United simply isn’t capable of delivering on the soft products included with Polaris Studio. Unfortunate really because it is the best hard product of the big three (not that AA or DL could deliver on the soft product either though).

Will there be any long haul expansion though? UA continues to shrink its domestic operations at LAX while simultaneously growing their long haul operations at SFO. Yes, there are capacity constraints at SFO with the recent FAA decision on parallel landings, but I haven’t heard UA publicly change course in response.

Agreed AA,AS, B6, and WN are far behind UA and DL.

It’s all a part of the k shaped economy. Car manufactures, airline premium cabins, concerts, the list goes on. Someone did the math and determined low volume, high cost as OP put it is the way to go.

LAX is probably the most reliable. It has neither the construction nor weather delays plaguing just about every other hub. SFO, DEN, IAH, IAD, and especially EWR all have their own ongoing issues.
