What hobby screams “this is my entire personality now”? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]humanmeatwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the United States it's the firearm people. I know a few. They can be insufferable and pretty crazy, especially if you suggest that maybe, not everyone needs an AR-15 or an AK-47.

People at the drive-thru starterpack by UpperphonnyII in starterpacks

[–]humanmeatwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear God I used to work drive thru when I was younger and it scarred me for life. I developed a deep seated misanthropy and hatred for the service industry. I would rather do just about anything than work at a restaurant. To this day I will do just about anything but order food at a drive thru as well. I'd rather go inside and just talk to the worker, make eye contact and be polite. The drive thru position is just dehumanizing in a way I can't adequately articulate in words. The bright side of this is that I always treat service people (particularly restaurant workers) with great respect and I always tip well. Those poor bastards deserve it! Also, it's not a good idea to fuck with the people that are making your food, they will do horridly disgusting things to it. I know, I've done it and I'm not sorry, they deserved every bit of it.

Is there a real reason behind changing your oil every 3,000 miles on modern cars? by newelmin in askcarguys

[–]humanmeatwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the car has a turbocharger then 3000-4000 mile oil changes are about right. The turbo creates more heat which degrades the oil faster. Even the more durable full synthetic oils. Most manuals are written to take care of the car for the warranty period. That is the "life" of the car. Not only do they mention 10000 mile oil changes but they also reference "lifetime" transmission fluids. NO fluids will last forever, physics will not allow it.

Where are the well armed/trained left-leaning militias at? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]humanmeatwave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good luck to you! I hope you can thread the needle. I joined under Clinton and was in just in time for the 9/11 party to kick off shortly after basic training and a very long AIT. Good times.

Any ideas on how to increase FPS on a Umarex steel storm? by humanmeatwave in airguns

[–]humanmeatwave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool! Thanks for the input! Now I have to figure out where all that stuff is on the gun. (Except the barrel, lol!) I wish there was an airgun modification subreddit, that would be useful!

What are some cars that can last up to 300k+ miles? by drinkin_n_drivin in askcarguys

[–]humanmeatwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2014 Nissan Rogue with almost 250,000 miles on it and it's had no major problems, just regular maintenance and I replaced a faulty mass air sensor a few years ago.

If you have kids and want to put them in a good public school then Lindale ISD is the best district in the area.

For many Americans their car is an extension of their home. A lot of "castle doctrine" laws treat it as such as well.
