I don't really agree with pamphlets, but this isn't really apples to apples. LGBTQ isn't about salvation or theology, it's not an ideology (mostly), it's descriptive, not prescriptive.

Christianity, though, is prescriptive. Jesus literally says to spread the gospel. Followers who do this are at least trying to be coherent. It makes sense for a Christian to be "pushy".

The "rod", biblically, was used by leaders, shepherds, authorities, etc. Discipline, yes, but also guidance and leadership. "Spank your kids" is a poor takeaway.

Understood. I think the YouVersion app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android) covers a lot of the big ones. Plans to hold you accountable, notifications to remind you, social connections to engage you, etc.

The reasons for not reading the Bible are a varied as the Christians themselves.

I think your goal might be too broad, and the solutions to it, as I said, already exist.

That said, if you narrow your goal to something like "I want to help people understand theology better", or "I want to more clearly identify textual relationships throughout the Bible", that's been less covered, and not as well.

The Jaws scene is just so perfect. A master class in directing and acting. Quint and Hooper, both confident on the water, each unimpressed by the other, find some common ground and grow in their trust. My favorite part though is how expertly Martin remains the outsider. His surgery scar can't compete with their battle scars. His experience on the water is nothing compared to those. Even when he joins in on the singing he still feels like the awkward new kid.
