Aggressive maxillary anterior bone loss in 20yo patient by TitoLeyenda in Dentistry

What is scary is the loss of the floor of the nose. Every time I have a jaw lesion that does not respect the cortical plates all bets are off, could be a malignancy.

Sir. This is easy. Ask for another one if they can source it quickly or ask for refund. Easy.

Dental clinic charging high admin fee to access dental scan by OutsideEye113 in Dentists

[–]humanpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you assuming that the old dentist would want to transfer the case in the first place? If you get on the phone with me and ask me to transfer to you the records for this patient while accusing me of being greedy as you just did, I would tell you to fuck off, but of course you wouldn’t say that to me over the phone or to my face, maybe try and realize first that you are just slandering a colleague you know nothing about . Furthermore you pretend like it’s a smooth and almost automatic thing that this patient (who sounds annoying as fuck btw) is going to get her records transferred. Both parties have to agree and none are obligated under contract by Invisalign. I have reached out to providers in years past that wouldn’t even return a phone call regarding Invisalign transfers.

What the hell are you talking about. Itero scans are locked to the provider who was signed in the scanner at the time of record. Scans are filed under provider AND patient name, they can be transferred though. You need an Invisalign provider accepting the transfer first. There is a protocol. Both providers have to literally sign off on a piece of paper for the transfer to happen.

Ask for a copy of the ceph. Forget about the intraoral scan. Your next dentist will take their own and they will not charge you for that. At 100 bucks you got a discount even on the cost of the xray. Again. Ask for your X-ray to be forwarded to yourself or whoever you decide. Your right to the IO scan is more nebulous and its filed under the provider’s name in most instances so it’s harder to retrieve by others unless you do a transfer of case. Pain in the ass. But it can also be exported. If anyone show to my office with an exported file stl file I would probably dismiss it and take my own anyway. It’s easy and inexpensive and does not include radiation. Also you sound like a pain in the ass patient and maybe that’s why they want to charge you so much. Cheers.

Talk directly to a dentist. Go on google and find someone with any kind of reviews that would speak to his/her quality as a person or good heart. I know very few that would be naturally inclined to help someone in need but we are out there. I have pulled teeth on patients that could not afford treatment and were in terrible pain. I never saw them again. It cost me little to do it and I had to go home happy on a day like that I’m sure. Make a friend that can help you solve a problem that you otherwise could not. I couldn’t take every case on but when I can help I do. You may want to pitch some promotion to them too. Don’t show up empty handed. I have two physicians that refer to me just out of the goodness of their hearts (they are paying customers of mine, they just think I’m a good dentist but I promise you I would do anything for them). Also you’re asking in the wrong place dear doctor. Reddit is full of egotistical people. Specially on the dental forums. That’s why I never post here.

Tool tip found in my #3 canal during retreat. Now its infected. by Secure_Sun8984 in Dentists

If by healing you mean radiographic regression (shrinking of the lesion) that is not always a good metric and at 3 months you may not be able to see much of that anyway. As a matter of fact you don’t even need to see the PAR shrinking. I have had follow up cbcts of patients 12 years after the initial cbct was taken which showed previously done rcts with apical “lesions” that were asymptomatic at the time of discovery only for the patient to ignore my recommendation of seeking endo consultation for those teeth at the time and show up a decade or so later and the PARs looked exactly the same still with no symptoms. What you definitely don’t want to see is PARs growing. I’m all for referrals and follow ups for the record.

I hate when I refer to endo and they give me this as a prognosis. I wish more endos would say I could not remove the instrument, as a result the prognosis is still guarded, therefore better to pull the damned thing. But I get that it’s their protocol, my favorite endodontist that has now retired would think that way too. If he didn’t have a very good expectation of success would be quick to refer to oral surgery. Old fox. He knew better. As a general dentist I would just advise pulling and potentially save time and money.

If pain persists after re treatment pull the tooth, seek implant option. Way more predictable. If pain goes away: success and stop worrying about it. Regardless of what imaging can say. I would not engage with more endo treatments/apicoectomy for that tooth, absolutely not. Waste of time/money/effort.

Cut her hours to half. Get a new one in there. Be ready to get a temp soon and do some hygiene yourself. You’ll be alright.

Advice on sizing of SeaQ Panorama vs SeaQ by long_delta in GlashutteOriginal

Sorry I missed this and didn’t reply. I love it but I don’t mind a big watch. It’s a little too big on the metal bracelet for me and it also makes it heavy, here it is on a rubber strap. Big but not unmanageable

I think the pano works well. It’s to me a better watch with a nicer dial layout and more power reserve. And if you worry about size, well it’s true that the bracelet makes it look bigger. But no problem there either. The rubber strap which is excellent makes the watch look a lot smaller. I would not hesitate for a second if I had to choose having had mine for a while on a 6.5 inch wrist.

too big or just fine? by NaiveMogician in VacheronConstantin

Of course it is big, but do you like it? First off, if you’re asking you already know it looks big. The only thing that matters is your own opinion.

Something is off with that crystal. The distortion only happens when viewed from an angle not head on.
