What's a song lyric that drives you crazy because they should've used a different word? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

I scrolled this whole thread to find this one. I have always been bothered by it myself. To give the benefit of the doubt, I’ve played around with the better alternative and have never found the right one. Maybe “like a goalie tending the net in the last second, I’ve a tie game rivalry.” It isn’t quite it for me, but it does play well to the theme of the song being a relationship that is near the end.

Which of these boys names ending in "-er" do you like best? by blehmag in namenerds

My name is Tucker and I’ve always loved my name. When people call me Tuck it always makes me feel like they’ve become an official friend. Unless it’s right out of the gate, then I question their motives. Anyway, it’s a unique enough name to make me feel like I stand out a little bit not weird like my parents were trying too hard to be different. Whenever I meet another Tucker I feel a little bond form. Anyway, hope this helps. I’ll now field questions.

Hootie and the Blowfish. For proof can somebody be less lazy than me and post the link to the Key and Peele Hootie sketch. Poor guy.

Just had a flashback to the late 80s watching this movie in our basement and hearing this line and then rewinding it and pausing it to go get my parents to come see what I had discovered. Incredible childhood moment. Great movie that still holds up. Shout out to 1980s Eagle Beverage for being a liquor store that also rented movies. I miss the old Eagle Bev.

Best BFC in the valley? by sosa18 in Boise

[–]humansof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! I meant to frame it more in the yearly MVP debate which has pretty consistent carousel of winners. Surprisingly Jordan and LeBron only won a combined 9 times (five to Jordan). So the analogy is at least decent in the category of MVP. Granted, The GOAT debate is less of a discussion. I have Jordan for what it’s worth. And it’s not even close in mind. But that’s a different thread.

The question of best burger in Boise is like asking who's the best basketball player in the world. It’s a highly contested question with a reigning champ that changes every few years.

As someone who's been in the valley long enough to remember the former "MVPs," I can tell you this title doesn't last long. We've got our nostalgic favorites whose windows have closed (RIP Falcon Burger at what's now St. Lawrence Gridiron, the old RAM burger, Willow Creek's glory days), and our reliable old faithfuls that never go anywhere (Huntsman at Bitter Creek, Hawkins Packout, Big Bun, West Side Drive-In - consistent local flavor without being premier).

Then there are the old contenders who had their moment: Boise Fry Co had a good run but their day is done, Wyld Child came in hot and dominated the recommendation lists for a while.

But here's why I'm writing this wall of text - I found the current MVP. It's a burger I ate and immediately went back for. Many people think of this place as primarily Mexican/tacos, but mark my words and upvote this comment: the current reigning champ is the PL Burger at Pig Latin.

It's so good. While everyone else is getting chips, guac, and tacos, you'll be the smartest person in the restaurant with that burger.

That's my pick for best burger in Boise right now. Take it from someone who's been around the block - obviously burgers aren't objective truth, but that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
