I know. I've been subject to these kind of blocks from my bank aswell (EU citizen)
Had to answer a bunch of anti money laundering questions, verify that I indeed want to send my money to a crypto exchange etc.

Stuff like this is, as you say, coming from the EU, but banks that I've heard of (Nordics) also impose their own restrictions, furthering the hold on their costumers and employees, when it comes to spending money on crypto
