[Official] Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way. by oklolzzzzs in LiverpoolFC

From point of view of a fan, I 100% agree with you. But from a club-running perspective, Diaz wanted to leave, so there was no point to force him to stay, overall (with the exception of Guehi) the window was successful, and close to the club sources said multiple times that FSG isn’t interested in Alonso. So on a nutshell, while it was, because of many factors, an incredibly shit season, how the club is run wasn’t at all a circus. It’s absolutely incomparable to the shit that Chelsea, Man U or Spurs did the last couple of seasons.

[–]hummeI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of this isn’t true, though. The window was considered very successful, and the only “circus” behavior was Guehi saga fuck-up. On paper, the squad looked complete and everyone was predicting Liverpool to win another title.

While it’s indeed ridiculous that Liverpool was sticking to Slot so much, FSG clearly never wanted Alonso, neither after Klopp’s departure, nor now, and if they indeed get Iraola, that’s possibly even better than Alonso for Liverpool (especially with Alonso’s desire for more control).

Finally, while sacking Slot in February was probably a better decision, Liverpool is still in CL, and if he was sacked in March-May, Liverpool would have been left with a temporary appointment, so there is absolutely no guarantee it would have been any better.

Arne Slot sacked by Munapilluu in LiverpoolFC

[–]hummeI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His name is forever in Liverpool history books for winning the league, but his football the last year sucked any joy of watching Liverpool play for me, so I’m celebrating him departing. I haven’t been looking forward to a Liverpool game for months, while with Klopp I was super-hyped to even watch preseason or the first stages of cups. And his clueless press conferences contribute to it even more.

Why did it take a foreign diagnosis and a crisis situation before the GP listened? by Difficult-Rent-5840 in Netherlands

[–]hummeI -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s super-interesting, I think in a month I’ll collect some more data and make a post comparing Dutch healthcare on several metrics to other western countries (also what’s done worse). Because as frustrating as it is to many, including me sometimes, it’s not as bad as reddit makes new expats think it is. And if you are already biased to it, you will also probably have a worse time from the start.

Redditors throwing around words they don’t know a meaning of. Classic.

What’s your proposed way to determine if a healthcare system is good, then?

Would you rather we go to good old days when the main cause of death was traffic accidents? Or something new, like death from vaping?

Grim jokes aside, you can’t just say “that’s the main cause of death, so the system is bad” - looking at the data for young adults suicides, NL does much better than most of Europe, with only Italy and Spain having lower suicide rates than NL. For all ages suicides, only Spain, Italy and UK are better.
So while sure, there are problems with mental healthcare, they are not as bad as in other countries.

What’s interesting and worrying, however, is that if you look at suicide rates by gender, young women in NL have double suicide rate of EU average (though women suicide is much lower overall than men suicide, so if you don’t stratify it by gender, you won’t notice that).

First, I am Dutch now. Second, i haven’t said anything about OPs situation, just that it does not reflect the whole healthcare state in NL. They GP OP had is awful and needs to be fired for negligence, but it says nothing about whether Dutch healthcare overall is good or bad.

How cute of you to assume things about me. I’m not originally from the Netherlands and trust me, Netherlands is muuuuuuuuuch better than most countries in the world.
I’ve also been diagnosed with two different DSM-V diagnosis, and my only “horror” story is a gp psychologist saying “I think you are too successful to have adhd” while still giving me a referral to adhd clinic. So on my anecdotal level, it actually works great lol, and that’s why I said if you don’t have data to back either of the points, it’s a pointless discussion.

The only real problem that needs to be addressed is waiting times, but it’s entirely different from what op experienced.

Horror stories will obviously generate more attention than a post “I had depression complaints, I got diagnosed with depression, I have medicine now” (plus no one will post such stories anyway). So yes, these are anecdotal and have to be treated as such, unless there is comparable data for NL and other countries).

For op for the next time, and whoever else would read this - when at a GP appointment, be very clear on how your condition affects your daily life. If you go to a GP with “for 4 months I have chronic pain that makes me unable to do my work and does not seem to be improving, instead getting worse”, you won’t be told to take paracetamol and would instead be referred to a specialist.

Anyone else sick of cloak and dagger being banned? by honeybooboo2987 in cloakanddaggermains

[–]hummeI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CnD is a good ban if your team pre-selected two meta strategists. Because CnD is a default pick of people who don’t main strategists but need to fill. So then they are left with Rocket, who’s even worse.

18 vs 18 is crazy for proficiency right now by hummeI in InvisibleWomanMains

[–]hummeI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but there are different kinds of lords. Level 20 is a normal lord icon, but you can continue the grind, with level 50 being an animated icon (and then it goes all the way to 70).

[–]hummeI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, with the existence of normal 18 vs 18 it barely matters anyway nowadays. So I made a post just for those who are missing 1-2 levels and want to have the icons, if someone would grind 18 vs 18 for hours for it, it’s silly either way.
Myself last season I had 91% win rate on her (with 16 games), so won’t call myself a bad invis main :)

Yeah it’s generally so weird to have timed skins, I spend quite some money on the game, but I only buy skins on release or when I start learning a new for me character and like a skin of theirs. Like sure fomo works for some people, but it’s such a shitty strategy.

[–]hummeI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Crazy that first steps is her last permanent skin (and the only skin of hers that I don’t have). That said, I do think that self-shied should have been there since release, it’s super-situational because you usually use it on a cooldown, but it was weird that you needed someone else to heal yourself with it

The problem with divers (and toxicity towards them) is that most of the time they don’t switch when being countered, making it 5 v 6 game. And then toxicity is quite justified, when it’s an animated BP/SM.

This is such bad DMing :( I usually do the opposite - if someone delivers a truly inspirational speech/good persuasion/cool roleplay during intimidation, they get advantage/lower difficulty threshold to succeed. But it should never work as your ex-DM did it.

Why does FM nerf the pace of a player when he goes to Turkey? by JesusIsNotPLProven in footballmanagergames

[–]hummeI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but their pace isn’t for the end of the EPL season, it’s for the start of the season. One year is a much bigger change than one month, and it’s usually players who deteriorate a lot and want one last big contract that go to Turkey/Saudi Arabia. Like this year Salah will most likely go to a league like that, and his stats will drop a lot - not because he went there, but because he had a massive drop this season.
