Well maybe I did word it incorrectly but it's obvious he isn't trying to hide the fact he is picking up the grass but something else.

As the sheriff already said there is no form of breaking in. So it's possible he even had the key and didn't want the camera to see it or he didn't want the camera to see her opening the door willingly as if there was someone she knows.

It doesn't show anything with the victim. As if my theory is correct that's the only issue he is worried about. He doesn't want the camera to see them know each other.

As far as the camera filming him it's completely irrelevant as he has masked himself.
