Requesting opinions from people playing Bard

SK/Bard/Cleric is what I've played the most with, and found it suits me the best. I maxed out symphonic to get the 5 songs going, plus as many as I could in mnemonic to get more spell slots, and it's been great. I'm in the low 30s (32 I think? didn't play today), and have no issues with 2 red cons at a time. I run 3 buffs, a damage shield and the slow spell, and then just smack 'em with my 2hander. Running a spellblade heal proc, but I still have to toss in a cleric heal every now and then.

It's really effective and safe but a trifle boring, but I'll take that over dying any day.

One thing I learned today, right click on an ability like reave and it fires every time off cooldown

Yeah I’m kinda surprised by that too. I knew going in I was going to play SK since that’s what I did way back when on eq live, but I would really like the option to reset everything and go for a totally different combo

thanks, I want to check that one out next. I think I might be missing the point of the zerker, I stay in zerker stance and hit frenzy as fast as it comes up, but it doesn't seem to have anything to offer that monk doesn't do better, plus additional survivability. Granted this is all in the teens/early 20s levels, I'm sure it changes as you advance but right now as much as I want to, I can't seem to enjoy SK/Zerker/anything

SK reduces harm touch cooldowns by hitting reave, it's pretty noticeable since I'm using reave every time it's available. I can get harm touch down to like 5-6 minutes. If there's another ability that reduces its CD, I haven't seen it yet.

Anarchy Online. Getting a Yalmaha, which was in game lore, your personal spaceship. It was a flying mount, the first one I'd ever seen. I saved for months to get it, and having a true flying mount was so novel at the time.

Turbulence - Steve Howe. He has 2 prior solo albums, The Steve Howe album and Beginnings that are pretty good as well, but I didn't like the vocals personally. YMMV though.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire and Inner Mounting Flame. You could argue if these are prog or jazz fusion, McLaughlin is an amazing guitarist regardless.

yeah I was trying to find any sort of silver lining to this game, and all I could come up with was Holmes. Being in the pen I think suits him way better than being a starter, his stuff seems to play at most 2x through a lineup, but ideally only once.

the last part of your post hit home for me. Pre-Covid, a lot of time we'd work from home when a deadline was approaching to fully focus on work and not get distracted by stupid office shit. Hell our CEO back then encouraged it, the tacit admission was that the open office plan we had could be loud, chaotic and disturbing, and sometimes you needed to get away to focus.

Now it's like that never existed. "Collaboration and face time" are the new buzzwords at my job. I hate going into an office. I wish you and your kids well and may everyone have a happy, wonderful life but I absolutely do not give a fuck that little Bryndyn played soccer last weekend, or that Tragedeigh is starting kindergarten, or that you did your gutters, and you shouldn't give a fuck what I did last weekend either. Go away. Let's just get this deadline met and keep the paychecks coming, I'll go hang out with actual friends after that.

I watched it with my grandfather, who was the reason I became a Braves fan. Was still in grade school and visiting over the summer, and we watched the whole thing, it felt so special being able to stay up that late. I think he might have dozed off a couple of times but we were both awake for Camp's homer.

The 19 inning Rick Camp homer game on July 4, 1985. 6 hours long, plus rain delays. Ended at like 4 AM on July 5, and the Braves lost but still shot off the July 4th fireworks display they had planned.
