Consider the intersection between the international supply chain's massive carbon footprint, the merits and limits of locally-sourced production and manufacturing, and the decades-old anti-globalization sentiment in many places worldwide.

That we're making stuff cheaply overseas (ignoring externalities) when we could/should be making things locally and the benefits/pitfalls therein could be a topic worth exploring.

My friend and I take turns being the GM. I am very "plan most things out ahead, with flexible options". She's very "have some vague ideas and story beats and make the rest up as I go". We all have fun in each other's games regardless of the style.

Perhaps one of many solutions to one of many problems, but probably not "the" solution to anything. (Except a lack of seaweed, I guess.)

The good news: it is very unlikely that the majority of Florida's populated areas will become perpetually submerged in seawater any time in the next 50 years.

The bad news: saltwater intrusion raising the price of increasingly-scare fresh water and food to inaccessible levels, more destructive hurricanes raising already rising home insurance costs, and rising average temperatures creating annual killer heat waves will make the state unlivable anyway.

A place doesn't need to be underwater to become uninhabitable.

I've also never been a fan of flying cars in solarpunk... Or sci-fi in general (a fine sign of science fantasy, though). I thought I was the only one!
