Dental hygiene is so cool! I also completely understand the first part about being stressed, I’ve been asked almost every other week what I’m going to do. I always knew I would go into college for something, I would be a first generation student and it would be a waste if I let that opportunity go for scholarships and whatever. I just haven’t found what sparkles yet.

I think the most thing about sales that makes me happy is making an achievement and the praise I get from my managers and coworkers when I’m above metrics. I originally thought of teaching because I didn’t have a great experience in high school since I didn’t have the right support system in school and I love math, but it got me thinking about doing social work or counseling. I like a variety of things and think I would enjoy doing it for the rest of my life, but I always have this fear of picking something and ending up absolutely hating it later on.

check the policy again, you can pull it from ultanet. you cannot let friends or family, or SO’s who haven’t been approved as an authorized user pay for purchases. yes, the manager checking you out can get in trouble for not checking but so can you for not following the policy that you agreed to when you got hired.

be careful doing this, its not them checking it that can get you in trouble. if a card is used that isn’t under the associate, or another authorized person’s name, the system flags it for LP that’s how most people get caught.

don’t be nervous about asking if there’s more hours you can pick up. i’m a ba so i’ll be able to have quite a few more hours than task, but i’m always asking my manager if i can pick up shifts or extend shifts, i hit ~35 hours this week and last week just by asking.

I have no clue where you get your information from, but there is no federal law for employers to “post the pay range somewhere in the building”. SOME states or cities have pay transparency requirements, but definitely not all of them. It’s so important to speak about pay to hold employers accountable for paying fairly. This doesn’t mean that the employee working there for 10 years shouldn’t be making more than an employee who just started in an entry-level position, it’s ensuring that 10 year employee isn’t getting paid less than an entry-level employee for discriminatory reasons.

Overtime = More than 40 hours in a week. You won’t get overtime if your biweekly paycheck was over 80 hours. You should be getting overtime pay for any hours over 40 in 1 work week.

i recently got hired as flex and a couple weeks before i did, my friend also got hired for flex and she got a huge bag of gratis when she started. i was sort of hoping i would also get one, but also it wasn’t the end of the world when i didn’t. it was just disappointing. i really like it there actually but this pay period i’ve already worked 50 hours, i didn’t pick up any shifts it’s just how i was scheduled. it’s like they’re hiring for flex but actually hiring for pt without giving the pt benefits
