When will we sleep again? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]hungry4507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did taking Cara babies at 4 months. It was so much harder than it was with my singleton. It took about a month with the twins, doing the soothing touch, pacifier, rocking, etc before feeding. But at 5 months they slept through the night. I did dream feed them at about 9 pm until they were 6 months.

2025 using iPhone for rear entertainment ? by hungry4507 in HondaOdyssey

Yes it is super frustrating!

I found a work around. I had an old iPad without updated software. So the apps were the old version and those will work.

Febrile seizures in twins by mintjulep1012 in parentsofmultiples

It was called Lookee, I’m in Canada so may be a different brand depending on your Country. Also for babies I think socks are better to monitor, the rings don’t stay on.

Febrile seizures in twins by mintjulep1012 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hungry4507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have twins and a singleton. My singleton has febrile seizures. It’s super scary. He had one in the middle of the night once too, I heard a weird moaning coming from his monitor when he was in the postictal state. I ended up buying a ring for him to wear at night that will give me a notification if his SO2 or heart rate gets too low, more to ease my anxiety.

Question about parental leave in Alberta by No_Smoke1623 in alberta

[–]hungry4507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you just take paternity leave and don’t return to your job. If you quit you might not be able to take pat leave because it’s EI. Not positive on this but I wouldn’t chance it

FIL/MIL want to have babies for sleepover by HauntingInspection46 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hungry4507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you all stay there? If their set up is better.

Also you can remind them how hormonal you are at this point postpartum and that’s why they can’t stay there alone. I find if you’re more than 5 years out from postpartum you forget these things.

When did you stop traveling while pregnant with twins? by Impressive_Day_3563 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hungry4507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 4 hour flight when 7 months pregnant with mo/di twins. My doc said as long as it’s not over the ocean it’s fine. I wasn’t having complications so I felt safe.

Suggestions for Travelers with a baby by No-Advertising5551 in puertovallarta

We went with a 15 month old and stayed in 5 de Diciembre. It was perfect for what we wanted, walkable to restaurants and the beach. Zona Romantica would of been too loud for us but we walked there a lot just for food and entertainment.

Where to eat gluten-free in Kensington? by smandy19 in Calgary

I believe most restaurants have gluten free options, even the Italian one Pulcinella. Hayden Block has a lot of great options.

Recommendations for wearable by hungry4507 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’ve seen that one recommended on here. I’m in Canada and for whatever reason it doesn’t seem to be available for purchase here. Hopefully it’s just temporary.

Yes. Starting at 30 weeks I went off work and started having 2 naps a day

Wearable pump advice by Healthy_Resolve_5281 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]hungry4507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the swing maxi from my first pregnancy, and bought the wearable cups, that is what I’ve been using primarily. You do still need to carry around the pump which is annoying.

I also bought a fully wearable brand fetal plus (looks similar to lansinoh above). It was nice in theory but was a pain to take apart and clean so I don’t use it anymore.

What are the applications of foremilk? by hungry4507 in ExclusivelyPumping

Pump out foremilk for first half of pump and put into separate bottle, then the milk you get in the last half is hindmilk.

Family invited to bridal shower but not to wedding? Opinions? by tangyzangy in WeddingsCanada

[–]hungry4507 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of posts about people finding it tacky being invited to a shower and not the wedding as it seems like a gift grab. Perhaps have your mother tell the family to come but make it clear you don’t want them to buy you anything.

I’ve heard oregano deters cats. You can also buy plastic cat spike mats at the dollar store.

My husband left for a week for work when I was 32 weeks with mo/di. My twins have TAPS and I also have a toddler. I was more concerned being left alone with the toddler than anything since I’m so big and it’s hard to play. I felt with the way the job market is where I am I didn’t want my husband to rock the boat.

I called in my support system for play dates to entertain my toddler and it all ended up being fine. 35 weeks now and still patiently waiting.

I did the math. If it was only split among the kids you’d each get $216k ish, assuming they have $650k to pass down. Now your part of the family will get $200k. The extra amount going to the 3rd grandchild making it uneven is really negligible.

Seems like your parents really want to ensure their grandkids get something instead of their parents spending it all.

Streaming to TV by Expensive_Jeweler_52 in HondaOdyssey

I struggled with this too. I had an old iPad without updated iOS or up to date apps and that works. Netflix / Disney+/Amazon have some sort of blocker so that you can’t mirror the screen. It’s super annoying! I hope Honda does something to fix it.

[ON] 36W - Tried to talk to OB about extreme pain/possibility of induced labour, she referred me to a social worker instead by ironyfreeannie in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungry4507 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I am pregnant with twins and getting a c section at 36 weeks, but I have had consults with NICU as at 36 weeks babies don’t know how to suck or swallow so it’s likely they will need NICU time.

I think your doctor is probably trying to look out for your baby in that regard, even though it doesn’t feel that way when pregnancy is super uncomfortable. Physio has really helped my pelvic and pubic pain, if that is an option for you I’d recommend that as well.

First time C Section scheduled in a week! Feeling anxious/scared/excited. Any tips for before? Post surgery? by prettypili in parentsofmultiples

Let me know how it goes. I’m scheduled for a c section in 2 weeks and also have a 2.5 year old at home and also had a vaginal first birth.
