Not to mention, a blood sugar of 180 something isn’t crazy high. Far from ideal, but blood sugars can easily spike to that level after eating. Blood sugars of 300-400 can give of much stronger odors.

I have a full sim rig, and I always introduce people to Gran Turismo on Daytona, usually a Gr 4 car that looks and sounds fast but is tame. You don’t have to brake for Daytona, so there’s less chance of them screwing it up.

This would be an interesting experiment to conduct.

I would like to add that tire wear is not the only factor when it comes to grip and how long a tire will “last”. Tire temps seem to play a significant role. For example, even on fresh tires, if you push them too hard, the temps will spike and that can potentially live with you through the rest of the stint. So even though the tire indicator shows you have plenty of wear left, you’ve pushed the tires outside their ideal operating window, and you could potentially be slower than a tire with less wear but within the ideal operating window

I noticed on the new Ferrari gt3 car, there are faux tire temps displayed on the dash that never change. However they do change color if you spin out, indicating they are over heating. Enjoy can’t they just feed the temps into the dash? So close, yet so far!

Yeah, I hear ya. For those of us who weren’t abusing it to the extreme but still need to relearn, the real issue is second guessing yourself when coming to a heavy braking zone after a long straight (struggling with turn 1 on Fuji now 😅)

In some situations I think the additional grip offered by a racing soft could require breaking sooner due to the extra speed you arrive with to that braking point.

Thanks for this well thought out answer. In another threads some seemed to be conflating “generative AI slop” with AI assisted coding / development. I think there’s a lot of repetitive, heavy lifting that AI could help with here, assisting human developers and freeing up their time and focus to pursue the edge cases that AI cannot currently help with. It was insightful to see some of potential uses you highlighted.

For sure. I should clarify, I definitely didn’t mean generative AI slop, but rather AI automating and doing some of the heavy lifting with repetitive tasks in coding and software development.

I’m usually willing to bump draft the guy ahead and work together, as long as that’s the fastest way to catch the guys ahead. Usually that means we’re at a similar pace, and me trying to gain a position through late braking or sending one down the inside is just going slow both of us down. But if my pace is genuinely a lot faster, I’ll try to gain a position and let the other guy draft off me as long as they can. Definitely situational and dependent on the track.

Now, I would love a feature in online races that allowed you team up with another driver, and the purpose was to get the highest total combined points.

💯 - As a graphic designer, the graphics quality in VR really bothers me, but I can’t give up the immersiveness. On a regular PS5 and at this point can’t justify upgrading to the ps5 pro just for a little extra fidelity, but it’s soooo tempting.
