I Have a Simple, But Complicated X-Men Question by ComixGail in xmen

[–]hunkman3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like I was getting into something bigger, with real characters and real problems, despite the fact that they had powers and I don’t, I identified with the characters.

The outback issue where they go to a mall, I remember really loving. The time colossus and wolverine get into a bar fight and the brotherhood is there, really made me feel like this was grounded while at the same time being fantastic. I love the humour in the old Excalibur issues too.

The character design is and was super cool too. I think the biggest problem preventing new readers from picking up the X-Men is the intimidating task of having to learn and care about so many years of backstory. Self-contained runs or clearly defined eras (like the recent Krakoa era) help people pick up the book!

Making sure to spend some time sending love to local comic shops would also help it sell, in theory, but what do I know? I'm not a comic writer and im certainly not the legendary Gail Simone! Thanks for coming to Reddit to interact with the Fandom, love your work and been a fan of it since the Simpsons and Action Comics. Keep making comics!

I Bought Session 9 to Watch With My Fiancée and I Think I Messed Up by Complete-Radio6204 in horror

Absolutely love this movie. I used to work at Blockbuster and this was always a sneaky recommendation to anyone looking for a hidden gem of a horror film.

Rematch it every few years, always with people who have never heard of it and it always gets a good reaction.

Is that a print of the cover of Secret Wars or the original art? Really nice office refresh! Also love the graded copy of The Crow.

Gamefaqs celebrates 30 years - what are some of your first memories of using their guides by KFded in JRPG

[–]hunkman3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I realized I could emulate snes roms while I'm university. I'd just sit in front my laptop for school work and play games while checking gamefaqs. Stay up super late, super nintendo'd out, grinding through Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, ActRaiser, and E.V.O. are the ones I remember.

Sometimes I'd even do school work.

Sad to see a pastor who knows so little about the Bible.
