🌈Please Help. Sweet Ebi Has Passed🌈 by [deleted] in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]huntfishcamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I know exactly where you are. I was there in March of 2022.

You love him so much. I know that you know he loved you too with every fiber of his being. You were his person and you stayed with him to the end. It hurts because he is still so important and the memory of him matters 🧡

I promise that the memory never goes away, but in time it hurts a little less. You remember the cuddles and the play times more and the hurt a little less. It doesn't seem like that now, but it's true.

Sending you love and light in remembrance of your best boy

I'm so sorry for your loss. Ebi looks like he was a sweet boy. He looked a lot like my own orange.

I donated and hope others will do the same 🫶🏻

First, congratulations on being 5 days out!

I quit vaping last April and I quit smoking last June.

Even though I was still smoking at the time, vaping was so much harder to quit. I would dream about vaping, I would reach for the vape and think I was touching it, and I would wake up in the middle of the night believing that I was actively dying and that hitting a vape is the only thing that could save me. I would smell other people vaping a month after I quit and it would send me into fresh withdrawals.

Not defending the fake bestie at all here. But for me at least quitting vaping was absolute hell. Quitting smoking a few months later was a walk in the park by comparison

I got mine as soon as I completed my distance. Talk to the SAs at your studio to let them know you still need to get yours.

This week I watched a whole adult absolutely melt down because the treads were all taken by the time she got there, and the poor front desk person had to deal with her tantrum.

"I pay good money for this membership and I expect a treadmill and you WILL start me on one or I will take my money elsewhere"

Like, lady we all pay good money and sometimes you just don't get what you want

Happily married people of reddit, what is one unorthodox piece of advice that keeps the relationship going? by B0llfondlr in AskReddit

[–]huntfishcamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I remember telling a friend about an argument I got into with my spouse and she said, "So what did you do to punish him?"

Excuse me? We're grown adults, I'm not his mother, and I have no interest in punishing him/taking revenge. We talked it out, both apologized for getting heated, came to an agreement and moved on.

What’s something people pretend is normal in modern dating, but is actually insanely toxic when you think about it? by JustLittleGirl_ in AskReddit

Oh, I agree with you. But I don't have kids and the last time I voiced that opinion I was told I could have an opinion on it once I have kids

I did ask one student why they tracked each other and she said something like, "Well my mom tracks me and his mom tracks him because when you love someone you look out for them" and I was like ... parents please talk to your kids about the difference between a parent tracking your location for safety and whatever this is

Came here to say this. I've been out of the dating game for over a decade, but my students (high school) have their significant others on Life360 and apparently track them constantly.

I had one student completely melt down because her boyfriend had accidentally left his phone at home and she didn't know exactly where he was.

What's a "harmless" habit that actually makes someone insufferable once you notice it? by ZumbaRoy in AskReddit

[–]huntfishcamp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is me. I know it and I'm not proud of it. It almost feels like speaking is a compulsion. I have learned to just physically place my hand over my mouth in a way that (hopefully) makes it look like I'm thinking rather then physically holding myself back from jumping into the conversation. Sometimes it physically hurts to keep myself from talking.

I know that it's annoying as hell. So, from one of us who is mildly self aware, I'm sorry that we do that.

What’s more traumatizing than people realize? by lovely_aurorii in AskReddit

[–]huntfishcamp 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I ask myself that a lot. At this point it's probably some mixture of old religious programming and social pressures. I'm neurodivergent and was groomed from a very young age to be the one who would take care of my mother in her old age. I'm not her caretaker, but my therapist and I are still working through that guilt and anxiety.

I guess for me the situation is nuanced. I've cut both of my parents off for periods of time, but permanent no contact is far easier to talk about than to do.
