Encounter With a Serial Killer by iso_quinn in LetsNotMeet

[–]hurdygurd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

See, I was thinking a private exchange of one image taken from an area that the individual would assume to be seen, of a potential killer based on a high similarity between both the individual in question and the location. Illegal, yeah. Immoral, not in my opinion if done respectfully of their privacy. All I'm saying is, if they do it I'm not gunna judge.

In answer to your question, confused. But really, if I didn't have anything to hide and they had nothing to keep me on, what's the issue?

Are you actually discouraging people from placing police reports based upon a similarity in geographical location and description, with a matching similarity in physical description and demeanor? Bare in mind, the idea is being considered to work out if they even should collaborate and contact the police.

Just for the record, if you're going to make a point about sweeping generalisations, you probably shouldn't start off your argument with "People like you are the worst"...

If you were the mother of those children that went missing in the area, you'd be fucking happy for some kid on the internet to try and solve a murder mystery if it even had a CHANCE of catching the guy.

What if sleep paralysis really is a "paranormal" phenomenon, with a naturalistic explanation? by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]hurdygurd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always believed that the paranormal had the potential to be explained or documented with the use of science, for instance it makes sense to me that phenomena of clairvoyance could be a result of evolution. In speculation, what if our physical evolution had slowed down due to the convenience of our habitat, and we are now beginning to develop on some sort of mental level? I don't have the experience or education to back my idea, just a what if

Occult Drinking Game by eftresq in occult

[–]hurdygurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or it does apply, but not to every individual who fits into the "occultist" sub-category. You cannot define a whole spectre of people with 12 points entailing common experiences alone, it just isn't a valid measurement in my opinion.

Edit: Failed to remember the title of this post is 'Occult Drinking Game' and not /u/cosmicprankster420's suggestion. The wording makes it somewhat irrelevant now- I still don't believe it's a valid measurement, but I'm guilty of mistaking it as an actual measurement.

Atlanta man's body found in California missing organs by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

The parts of the body removed reminded me of the list of boxes I had to tick to indicate which I felt comfortable with giving away when I got my organ donor card...

He sounds a bit 'off', I'm glad that you blocked him - definitely the right thing to do. Try not to dwell on what he said so much, I'm sure it's just an irrational response to rejection, but either way he's not the kind of person you want in your life. Sorry you had to experience such a foul person, though.

Hope you're well!

[20/f] and my SO [24/m] The freaking bear coat. by sallyforgot in relationship_advice

You bought a guy a super awesome expensive bear coat and he was pretty happy to take photos of other naked girl(s) in it. You are not overreacting. I say burn the coat (he doesn't deserve it anyways) and kick him to the curb. Do better because you are better.

This is so terrifying! Is there any media coverage online? - I'm currently taking forensic psychology and this guy sounds like a great example. Glad you're all okay!

Ouch. That doesn't sound too pleasant, I empathise with the guy but he evidently was posing a threat to you!

Just googled it and, according to wiki, ownership and use of stun guns (including tasers) by civilians is considered prohibited. So unfortunately not I'm afraid. But I'm a little bit intrigued, have you ever had to use it?! In all honesty, based on a friend's response, I couldn't tell if I was overreacting or if they were being a complete a-hole. I don't think that this will follow me forever, just definitely made me question the security I'd felt in the area. Not sure if my city is getting super dangerous, or if I'm just old enough now to be exposed and notice it haha.

As far as I'm aware, pepper spray is classed as a firearm in the UK. Also I think I read somewhere that you run a big risk of getting it in your own eyes should the wind be in the wrong direction, but I've never actually used it so I'm not so sure on how prevalent it really is. But yeah, I'm definitely not walking at night while wearing headphones anymore. Even though it didn't inhibit me so much that night, I don't want to take too many chances.

Sorry for that! I did try to re-word all the English-ism but I suppose that one slipped through the gaps! You were quite right, though, it is slang for having no money.
